C. Cerweny: Written with humor and practicality, this book clears out doubts you had about fasting by stating scientific facts and emphasizing balance and rationality in the how and why. Great Source on intermittent fasting!

Diedra13: I actually started listening to it on Audible before I got the hardback copy, but the information contained in this book is amazing. I was impressed with the section on vitamins and the difference in Women and men fasting! I am just starting Dave’s fasting challenge and find him fascinating as an author and diverse as a person.

JS Mae: So much great information. I've had the book for a while and didn't commit fully to it until I seen him speaking on Lewis Howes YouTube channel and knew I needed to revisit it.
I literally digested the entire book at a rate that I can only hope my metabolism can achieve one day. Fantastic information, easy to read, and very reasonable and sustainable information by someone who genuinely wants you to enjoy the experience above selling another fad diet.
Thank you Dave! True fan.

Bruce: Using Asprey's idea of having bulletproof coffee to start the day has made fasting sooo much easier for me. I have a coffee cup that holds 16 oz. So in the morning I have a full cup of coffee with two tablespoons of Asprey's Brain Octane MCT oil along with two tablespoons of unsalted, grass-fed butter. I am mentally alert, have no hunger or sense of feeling deprived, and can go the whole day without any of the typical fasting struggles. During the day I sip on 20 oz of water with 3/4 teaspoon of Himilayan salt in it, and for "dinner" I have another large cup of unsweetened herbal tea. I realize that in doing the Bulletproof coffee fast, I'm not perfectly fasting everything, because I figure I'm taking in somewheres around 400-500 calories from the MCT oil and butter. But I look at it this way: I'm taking those fat calories (so we are not activating insulin) in, inside a one hour window, and then going 23 hours with only water or herbal tea. So I feel I'm getting about 95% of the benefits of a straight water fast, with none of the struggle. I am now easily doing 3-day fasts following this protocol, shedding extra weight, and giving my body a chance to clean house with autophagy....

Amazon Customer: Even though I am very health conscious, I hadn't really heard or thought much about IF. Then, scrolling through Facebook one day I saw a 14 day fasting challenge by the author. I'm not sure why I signed up, but it's covid and I'm bored and I love food and health and I haven't been getting the results I want, so I figured, what the heck?
So I signed up for the challenge, printed up the free material he offered and joined the Facebook group for the 14 day challenge. I said, meh, I'm not buying the book. I've bought a million books and I'm getting bored of buying books and being bored with them and not finishing them.
But for some reason I got hooked on fasting. I started with the bulletproof coffee and continued to be intrigued with the group. I said to myself though, meh, I'm not cutting out the kryptonite foods, one guy says this another gal says that, at the end of the day they all contradict each other and nothing is good for you at all.
Then people on the group started talking about the book and I kinda got intrigued with Dave's approach. So it's not his way or the highway? He's got multiple companies and is a powerhouse of information? So it just happened...

Bijan79: Dave Asprey has been publishing books for a while now since his 2011 publishing of the Better Baby Book. He treats us to another book this time about the science of fasting and why we should incorporate it into our daily lives.
Dave’s books (and I’ll be providing another comprehensive blog post about all of them) have been “Game Changers” focused on health. In fact, both the Bulletproof Diet and “Headstrong” contained recommendations about fasting, so for this book to once again be about fasting is nothing revolutionary and new here. There have also been previous books written about the benefits of fasting from a more scientific perspective, most notably Dr. Berg’s Intermittent fasting and the health benefits of doing such.
There’s nothing wrong with writing a book about a subject someone else has covered, but if you’re going to do so, at least provide more unique scientific insight than the previous person did. Dave doesn’t do this. Instead he chooses to go down the route of storytelling , a bit of showing of his brand and product placement, and not much else. What made Bulletproof Diet, The Better Baby Book, Headstrong, and Superhuman decent...

Tyler Lutz: Dave is one of my favorite Authors. He has great flow and his books are easy to read. This book is useful and basically says this:
If you want to live a long time you most definitely have to be fasting. There are many different forms of fasting from negativity fasting to dopamine fasting to extended fasting. Dave also gives you his hacks for what makes fasting more bearable such as Bulletproof coffee and prebiotics innerfuel. I've been doing IF for several years and have never had enough will power and energy to engage in an extended fast (more than 24 hours) and the book doesn't provide a clear solution to that. Unless you are fortunate enough to afford a Shaman's fasting retreat into a cave like Dave.
In all he gave me some good ideas centered around fasting such as switching the fasting window earlier in the day to get better sleep and ultimately gave me this dream of being able to abstain from anything with ease and confidence.
Yea you should read it because Dave has awesome ideas and is a brilliant inventor but beware you'll have to buy one of his products (He'll get you hooked into biohacking). I would rate this his fourth best book.

ChiraagChiraag: More and more health practitioners are highlighting the health benefits of fasting. It is not a new concept but as more science is uncovered, it has become clear that this is a very beneficial strategy for better health and longevity. The problem is the actual implementation and actually understanding the implications of the approach. There are different types of intermittent fasts and also their effects are different for males and females. It is therefore important to clearly understand this to help identify the best approach.
This book is all about helping you understanding the power of fasting and most importantly, strategies that will help make fasting less painful, more pleasurable and enriching. The basic information on fasting is of course well known and you can read it in books such as Dr Jason Fung's The Complete Guide to Fasting: Heal Your Body Through Intermittent, Alternate-Day, and Extended Fasting. This book also covers all types of fasts e.g. 16:8, 5:2, OMAD (One Meal a day), Eat stop eat, Crescendo fast, Alternate-day fast, Water fast, Extended fast, Protein fast, Fasting-mimicking diet, Seasonal eating, Dopamine fast. He also brings into the mix, the...

Karin ReedKarin Reed: I've been following Dave for years. I've been practicing intermittent fasting up to 18 hours each day for many years. I thought I knew a lot about the benefits of fasting but this book took my knowledge to a whole new level. Since finishing the book, I've already experimented with two 24 hour fasts. The first wasn't great but the second was amazing! Dave talks a lot in the book about how we need to self-experiment to find what works best for us individually. He discusses how we are all unique and that women especially need to proceed cautiously and listen to their bodies. My first 24 your fast was definitely an experiment and I learned that having my one meal a day at dinner isn't great for me. But, having my one meal at lunch was ideal. I slept like a baby and woke up with tight skin and fewer wrinkles! I especially love the way Dave told his own personal story and described his journey in this book. It's one thing to read a practical how-to book that contains useful information, but when you read a very engaging story like this, the information sinks in so much deeper. I now have a very vivid image of Dave in the dark cave with bees swirling around him while he is trying to...
