Edgar E.: Me funciona bien, puedes calibrar mucho las velocidades, pero, depende de la linea y su voltaje, si hay otro dispositivo que tenga mucha carga y cae el voltaje, entonces la velocidad del motor cae también y así mismo cuando está más fuerte la línea, parece difícil de controlar la baja velocidad. En síntesis, no es estable la velocidad.
Probado en motores con escobillas y sin escobillas, con y sin capacitor. Funciona bien.

Ernie: I've CONFIRMED that this is supposed to be used with the FR series of fans, but it doesn't really "work":
1) the back side of this is HUGE; the only way it fits in a 1 gang 2" depth box is with VERY small wire nuts and a LOT of positioning - no excess wire will fit above the standard length.
2) as others mentioned, as the fan slows, it gets noisier . . .
3) it doesn't slow the fan down enough to make it quieter or effect the airflow

Ultimately, the FR150 I have is a solid performer; they should have just designed it for 3 or 4 speeds and either gone digital or multi-wire low voltage control to make it useful

Brian F Davidson: Shipped and received fine. Installed and worked as expected.

But, once you see the item you'll see that it's a KB electronics KBWC-15K. Available from Home Depot for $30.00. I bought one of theirs for a second Fantech unit. It also works well.

Fantech technical support confirms that the KB control is compatible.

thp146: I wired this up in line with a Ventamatic XXFIRESTAT and the system has been working great. The Ventamatic says not to use it with a solid state fan speed controller, which the Fantech device is, but I figured if I wired the Ventamatic ahead of the Fantech it would work okay and it did. So, the verbal wiring diagram is like this: Power line then Ventamatic then Fantech then fan. This way the Ventamatic thermostat cuts power to the Fantech device. If you put the Ventamatic after the Fantech, the Fantech would still have power but would lose its load. This could be problematic for the solid state circuitry of the Fantech device.
