Quality not what expected. Cheap, like you might find at WM. Lightweight is not good in a kitchen knife: Such an interesting collection of facts and stories. Great and easy read. A must read for animal lovers.

This fine book drew me out of my city awareness and back into the deep peace I found in nature as a child. Let this book transport you into your inner place of knowing that is most easily found far away other people. This book will take you out there, even if you can't get away yourself. It is a singular gift.

Lena: Some of the stories stretched credulity a bit, as it’s all supposed to be true, but generally very interesting for anyone fascinated with nature and wildlife. Would recommend.

HMS Warspite: Craig Childs is a writer and an outdoorsman who has had at least his share of encounters with wild creatures. Those encounters range from the mundane to the terrifying. They are here documented in "The Animal Dialogues", a book that is part travelogue, part adventure story.

These kinds of encounters might not be all that unusual for anyone who has spent plenty of time in the wild, especially in Alaska, Canada, and the American West, where predators still roam. The takeaway, for folks who spend most of their time in the concrete canyons or the sprawling suburbs, is that wildness is still out there. Childs is a good writer, and this book is recommended as an interesting read.

Alex Tee: I've read his other book, The Secret of Finding Water in the Desert, and I loved that one too.

He has a unique, almost soothing way of writing. You are pulled deeper and deeper into the book, time slipping past you as you are taken through the various amazing places he has visited across the US, and the intricate, intense encounters he has had with animals.

There were a few laugh out lough moments, like the Porcupine, or the Deer Mice, but as a whole the stories themselves and the narratives were rich and vibrant.

Vi Added: Bought as a gift... and it has been much appreciated. Separate stories, make it a book which is easy to pick up and enjoy and if interrupted easy to begin reading again.

Mr D P Bliss: An unusual read by a clearly unusual man, revealing an exceedingly deep and interesting insight into the natures of many different animals and their momentary relationships with him in the course of his life. It would be hard to imagine anyone interested in the animal kingdom, not to be fascinated by this book

AKRebeccaPanitzke: I had read about this book and knew that my 5yr old would love it if we read it together. So I found it on Amazon and ordered it for him for Christmas. When It came in it was a library book-spine catalog number still on and library stamp crossed out with a sharpie. Other than this it is in perfect condition and I am looking forward to reading it. When my son opened it he was a little confused that he was opening up a library book. I knew he would question this. I had to explain to him why. (I didn't really know why because in the description it says nothing about being a library book. Even the picture is misleading.) Not soon after I left my feedback for the seller I received this email: "I am concerned with the feedback you left us. We take complaints like this very seriously. We sell ex-library books all of the time. These books are not stolen but are either sold to us by friends of the library groups to raise money or consigned to us to sell on behalf of the libraries. What happens is that some books are discarded by the libraries because they aren't being checked out or they have extra copies. When that happens they go to library sales or in our case they are consigned to us....
