I gave this book to a friend that started to feed the outside birds. She tried to identify them with goggle, but had some difficulties. She is so happy with this book. She even calls me to tell of a new bird she saw and identify!

The images and maps are great. The art is very helpful as are the descriptions. It is my go to field guide and I have used them all. My only concern is the reorganization of the bird families. Being used to the former organization over the past two decades makes the new way clunky and unnecessary for appreciating the families. Likely that is a decision based on some ornithological authority.

Perfect bird illustrations - ideal for ID birds - actually its first time i can say someone who wrote ( illustrated ) the bird guide- knew what they doing!
And I have plenty guides. ( over 20 ) this one is created for quick search and id.
