Comments

Aredman2099: It's great to have an individual share his insights into the religious indoctrination we all suffer from in what should be an age where these misguided mythologies should be disappearing.

Junelle Preston: A good read yet difficult to follow a clean thread of thinking. Jumps from topic to topic as though the writer wants you to feel his dislike of religion versus thoughtful and logical interpretations

val stubbe: The author very clearly outlines each point and is very succinct in his disproving. However, when he mentions that the Bible states mankind shall not lay with man as he does with worm, the author failed to mention those words were paid to be put into the Bible and are not in the original version. Otherwise, this book is perfect in every way

Ashley LaBonteAshley LaBonte: This book was super easy to read and understand. I found a lot of the arguments he uses align with the very arguments that I have made over the years since coming out as an atheist. He cites references and full quotes from the Bible. He doesn’t simply state “the bible says this” in his own interpretation, he actually quotes and cites all of the Bible verses he is refuting. I highly recommend this book for all to read, not just atheists. Well done, Mr. McAfee, well done.

Zachary Nelson: My sides were in stitches as I read this book; the overarching joke being that it was a well researched work of a college level academic setting. If you want proof that atheists fundamentally do not understand the belief systems they criticize; then short of screaming into a megaphone I can think of no better example than this book.

Given that Christianity is a 2,000 year old faith, a book seeking to “refute” it in just over 100 pages has to be taken as comedy, St Augustine of Hippo has a longer work simply addressing whether humans have free will; something this book spends less than a page discussing.

A key element of its humor is the complete lack of knowledge of Christian theology, as evidenced by a stunning lack of sources cited in a work that even a Junior high schooler wouldn’t dare submit. At no point does the author address the many saints or theologians from centuries past who commented on the difficult passages he references; St John Chrystostom, for example, wrote commentaries on individual books of the Bible are often longer than the actual Bible.

It is curious how the author doesn’t provide an alternative theory for the resurrection of...

Carl Jacolette: What a great read, dispels the untruths about religion

Amazon Customer: The author has much better works that have been printed. This book covers known topics of the religeous problems we face in today's society but overs very little in the are of new information or ideas.
Is ok for those getting started in examining the impact of religion on modern society.

AndyD84: A very good read. The author succinctly demonstrates what it means for something to be true and how any flaw in the bible must mean that the Bible cannot be historically accurate or the infallible word of an omnipotent and perfect creator.

No new ideas are presented per se, but it is a very good summation of existing arguments and very easy to read compared to other works.

It's not the most aesthetically presented work but a must read for people wanting an overview of the state-of-the-art concerning arguments against Christianity.

Laura Castle: I really enjoyed this book (although a little short). I read it all during a train journey and did wish there was a bit more to it but I eagerly await David's next book on supernatural stuff. I enjoy David's writing style and like his Facebook page also. If y want to know more about the absurdity of Christianity then this book ticks a box.

Jela Mackova: I have never been religious and I have been hesitant for long time to brand myself either an agnostic or an atheist. I have chosen the latter and I started researching more and more in order to educate myself better on the topic so I am am able to explain why I am an atheist and to fend off anyone trying to persuade me that I should believe in Christian God. After reading few books from Richard Dawkings and Christopher Hitchens, I came David David G. McAfee on Facebook when browsing atheism themed pages. It really appealed to me how David communicates and writes, so I ordered this book. It is very nicely written and easy to read and follow text which depicts the conflicts in Bible and analyzes facts which are not being talked about in churches (and I have been to a mass few times so I am entitled to judge this). The book is clear in the references to Bible and it actually made me research more and more.

I definitely recommend this book to anyone looking for information about discrepancies and conflicts in Bible and Christianity itself.

The only downside is that it is quite thin and I only wish it was thicker with more text because the author is an amazing writer and...
