chantal herron: This was a great guide on our 3 week trip through Alaska. Combined with other trip planners and information I gathered, it was very helpful, concise, and full of great suggestions. I recommended it to another friend who was going to Alaska after us.

Avid Reader: I used this practical guide to plan a recent vacation trip with my spouse to Alaska and found it very informative and helpful. I brought it with me on the trip and it came in handy several times. For example, we discovered on the last day that our return flight was delayed, so we had some extra time to enjoy Anchorage. We referred to this guide and then visited the Alaska Zoo and Potter's Marsh. Without this guide, we probably would have just wasted time by driving around the area in our rental car or sitting in the airport.
While most of this book's descriptions seemed accurate, it seemed to over-hype (or leave out negative issues) for a few places or things to do. For example, we took the Ghost Tour of Anchorage and found it to be only mildly entertaining b/c the tour was mostly about the history of the area and not very scary at all (book failed to mention that the tour is held during the daylight hours in the summer months, which made it seem less spooky). This guide described the tour as equal parts of history and entertainment/ghost stories, but I'd say in reality it was heavy on the local history and lightly covered some interesting murder mysteries or ghost...

Amazon Customer: I’ve been using Moon handbooks for years. While this book is not much for those traveling in RVs as far as the many camping opportunities, it makes up for that with a book packed with info on all the places to go. Five stars around the Moon.
