donnasbookblog: I have read a lot of books now on the Titanic and my daughter has also now developed a keen interest too after we visited a Titanic Exhibition in August where she saw some of the items that had been in board and had been recovered from the Ocean floor.
I bought this book to read with her and she really enjoyed it.
She knew about the different classes from watching James Cameron's film so she was really pleased that this book had the reverse with the young boy being in first class and the girl in third.
It was a fun read overall but it did skirt around the losses that were involved and they all were rescued at the end so it wasn't a sad read and was one that was more informative and showed some of the differences in social classes too
It is 4 stars from me for this one - highly recommended

Amazon Customer: Easy to read and illustrations follow text. Our 5 year old boy enjoyed it almost as much as the complementary colouring book. Separate purchase at ~$5.00

Lynn: My kid is obsessed with the Titanic; this book describes what life is like and the magnitude of the tragedy in a way that my kid understands.
It's an easier read, but not a beginning reader, so younger kids will need help reading it.

Carol Rosenthal: My five year old grandson is obsessed with Titanic. I think we have purchased everything Titanic that is available on Amazon. This is a great series of books. We also got him if I were a kid living in Colonial America because he loves "Hamilton". The book is a children's version of historical fiction - factual with a story line of two children, one poor and one rich , meeting on the Titanic and thankfully getting to safety at the end. This is a great series of books - we have been happy with them all so far.

Chrysla: My 5 year old is fascinated by the Titanic. He loves this book and the adventurous story it brings. I love it because of the factual information involved. The different classes of passengers is presented and a story about a first class boy and a third class girl is used to talk about the ship and the disaster that occurred. They don't sugar coat the fact that the ship sank and people died. They actually explain it clearly and give reasons why it was worse than it could have been. We recently took a ferry and my son asked the operators if they had enough lifeboats and vests. He took safety into his own hands because of knowledge gleaned from this book. Very happy with my purchase.

Emiray: This is a great book to introduce historical fiction to children. The book comes with discussion prompts and leaves a lot of room to talk about historical fiction and imagination.
