mooncompass: I read this to my kindergartners and they loved it! All 9 classes! The part where the animals are about to go over the waterfall was suspenseful for them and I built it up by covering my eyes and asking them if I should turn the page. They all said yes and then we looked at the illustrations and imagined ourselves walking through the woods alongside the river and speculated about what animals we would meet. Highly recommend this book!
