Brent Flink: I ordered this kayak a week ago and got out on it yesterday for the first time. I was VERY surprised at the overall quality. I had the impression that Intex just made cheap pool toys. I was definitely wrong. While its by no means a professional level kayak, it IS solidly made.
It inflated very easily with the supplied hand pump and deflated and was easy to put away too.
On the water, it's very comfortable for a bigger guy like me (I'm 6'1 and 220lbs). I imagine it may be a tight fit for 2 people my size though. Maybe good for 2 smaller people.
A great find in my opinion!

GH1: I had done my research. I picked the Intex Excursion Inflatable kayak. I arrived at camp and pulled out the unopened box- hoping I had made the right decision. It was. But first- No instructions. No problem. The assembly and inflation was easy and intuitive. I had it ready to go in about 15 minutes. The pump does feel cheap, but it works very fast. Once in the water, it was stable and easy to get into. It tracks very straight, takes waves with ease, and is very manoeuvrable. I found it more comfortable to sit low in the kayak- that gave me more back support. Everything just worked very well. The material is heavy duty and there were no problems on gravel or rocks. With two adults and a child, I am sure we were at or over the max weight- but you would never know it. Take down was just as easy. Open the valves, press a bit, then pump out the rest of the air. Fast. And everything fits in the back pack. I wouldn't want to do a hike with it on, but you can certainly carry it to the water from a parking lot or camp site. My research paid off. It was as advertised- or better. Well worth it.

Sarge: Not bad as far as inflatables go. I have had it out twice on the lake and it felt quit stable. But like most inflatables the tracking is not great. To resolve this I am adding two smaller skegs to the hull and will use a 10lb sand anchor in the front. I have also changed out the seat to a regular kayak seat for better support. You may need to do a bit of MacGyvering for this. The foot rest is almost useless and so is the utility bar. Despite being inflatable it is still heavy but I bought it more for the storage. Some reviews mentioned the paddle is a bit flimsy. I found it to be fine to paddle around the shallows with. But that will be an easy upgrade.

michael bagley: This is gonna be a long one so buckle up.
I grew up on the water in Maine. I guided paddle trips for a prominent youth organization. I have been Certified to teach paddle sports by every organization that does so. I have thousands of hours and even more miles on the water in small craft.
I love this thing.
So my family has been off the water for a while do to no storage for boats where we live. I have been looking at inflatables for a bit, prime day came around, and I went for it.
Here’s the good:
super compact. We can fit two in the back of my wife’s small suv with everything we need for a family of 4 to have a great day on and off the water
Very stable. Try as he might, my two year old can barely even rock one of these, even with my 280lbs in the high seating position. The peace of mind with little ones on board is amazing.
Now, the amazing:
Versatility. I have never had a craft of any kind that can be so quickly reconfigured to cover any possible need. We took them to a local park with a group of friends to really give them a workout. Within 90 minutes the went from carrying 1 adult and one child, to two adults, to two 7-10 year olds...

mark: Compared to a good hard kayak, inflatables are generally terrible, including this one ‒ but that's not the point: Inflatables are the only option for air-travel, and even in local use their quick availability is attractive.
This kayak can, with modifications, perform decently as a solo or tandem inflatable. It seems well made and is a good value, although a substantial number of other buyers have experienced leaks. I'm happy with the Excursion Pro's valves, spaciousness and construction quality. It has good air valves (except in the stock seats and in the supplement seat pad), and has rod holders, foot-rests, interchangeable short and long skegs, and mounts for electronics. It also has a lot of well-placed D-rings, useful for attaching many things, including aftermarket seats.
The Excursion Pro has a proprietary hull material that Intex claims is extremely tough. Unfortunately, Intex gains a price advantage by skimping on warranty expenses. It limits its warranty to only manufacturing defects that are claimed within 90 days. To solidify its lack of responsibility, a warning in the Owners Manual says Type IIIB, inflatable kayaks [are] intended [only] for beach use...

JS: I bought an inflatable kayak for two reasons: I have no storage space or means of transportation for a regular kayak. I’ve been out a handful of times on this one already and I’m in love. Setting it up and putting it away take no more than 10 minutes. It doesn’t feel tippy at all like I worried would happen with an inflatable kayak. It’s been great so far.
It does handle a little differently than a regular kayak but you get used to it. I find it a little slower. But it’s a great rig for recreational kayaking and enjoying nature. Would recommend to anyone.
