Amazon Customer: I've bought 5 or 6 pairs of these Poles for myself, my wife snd my son. They have tended to last me about 2 years I've used them on hikes in Europe on the Camino de Santiago walking 20-35 km/day for 15-30 days plus training walks. They are simple no nonsense Poles and at the price I used to buy the m at of around 28 to $30 they were my go to sticks. I never thought twice about ordering another pair and the fact that the flip blocks would rust out and become non functional after a couple of years really didn't matter to me because at that price point it was easy enough to replace them however at $60 I really have to think twice. I would still recommend these polls for the sort of walking that I've done with them as they've served me very well however at the new price point of nearly $60 I have to think again and see what else I can find.

tyson d kamptyson d kamp: Trekking poles are the most over hyped outdoor gear there is in terms of mark ups on price. It's pretty simple.

Aluminum poles: 16-22 ounces, no reason to pay more than $80.
Carbon Fiber: 11.5-16 ounces, lighter and the don't bend they just break when over stressed.
Cork handles.
Synthetic handles.

For some reason there are poles out there that are $250 a pair when you can get these for $40. Even Black diamond's cheapest aluminums are $40-60 on sale.

I bought a pair of these poles in 2015 and have taken them on three trips a year at least, 3-6 days long each, up Mt Shasta and Mt Whitney. They have never failed me. The handles are getting a little dirty but I think any pole would have that with the use I've put on them. I have looked at tons of other poles and see no reason to upgrade, until and unless these show signs of imminent failure.

Michelle Beard: Absolutely brilliant poles. The best I've ever had - so easy to adjust and very stable. Highly recommended.

Steve: Brilliant poles, I took a long time to research before deciding to buy and these are very good value. Sturdy, light, adjustable and comfortable to use. The interchangable feet also mean they can be used on a variety of terrain. Highly recommended to anyone in any doubt or not sure which poles to buy.

Amazon Customer: You should remove the cork grips from product description. They are faux cork. I bought them as they are advertised to have cork but the packaging upon receipt clearly states faux cork. A little false advertising. Have not used them yet but hopefully that this is the only disappoint so far.

Pierre: VERY COMFORTABLE

Joan: I was nicely surprised at the short delivery time of these from order date to delivery, by courier, to my home in Australia - 10 days. So - first impressions. I found adjusting the telescope simple. On first spin with them, one of the poles collapsed so I adjusted the tension nut to correct. I think that this is an important factor - the tension must not be too tight or you might force the flip lock into overload and break it, too loose and it will collapse. On my first spin with them, too, one of the paws fell off - my fault, as I had not screwed the "round thing" on fully. Also, the paw must be pushed up flat against the round thing. As you can see, I don't have the terminology!' However, I am impressed with these sticks for the price. They are certainly sturdy. The handles are, I think, faux cork. Perhaps, if I have a qualm about them, it is with the strapping arrangement. However, time will tell. The other gripe I have is that when I tried to order extra knobbly paws, to save on postage, I got a message that these could not be shipped to Australia. So, I had to order them elsewhere. Not good enough. However, apart from that, so far I am happy.

OK - two days later. The...

Frankie&Chevy: Love them!

lidlone: I was hiking for more than 20 years with a bamboo hiking stick made for me by a friend - he cut it in half and inserted pvc into each opening so that I could collapse it to carry with me (in the car or in a duffel bag), put a cane tip on each end, and made a grip by wrapping foam around near the top and attaching it with duct tape. Worked for all these years. But I'm facing a long trip next year and the stick is showing some wear after all these years of backpacking, day trips, and just general heavy use. So I did a lot of research into trekking poles - wanted them to collapse as small as possible (had found a pair that collapse to 15" but they were out of stock when I went to order them), have flip-lock instead of twisting mechanism, be aluminum rather than carbon, not be anti-shock, and have a cork handle.

These just arrived and I took them for a short trial run the other day on a 3-mile stretch of the Potomac Heritage Trail - some rocks underfoot or scrambling, some tree roots, mostly a decent dirt path. I used the rubber tip for half the time and the plain metal tip for the other half of the time. Wanted to see how long it would take me to learn to hike with two poles...
