Harry Holmes: This e version is super handy with maps and up to date practical info. Having been to France 16 times since 2000, it’s great to have a factual and fun guide like this - always new experiences with the French, who are friendly and helpful, especially outside big cities.

Chiefmarcher: Would definitely recommend thus guide. We went for a long weekend in Lyon. The guide was excellent. The maps and descriptions were accurate. We used several bars and restaurants. All excellent.

krk56: We used this guide on our recent trip to France. It's a very useful mix of information, describing the most interesting places and primary sites, but also full of practical tips. Covering the entire country obviously forces some compromises on what to include.
We used it in Lyon and Provence and found the restaurant recommendations quite reliable. The maps are useful until you can get more detailed ones at your hotel.

RosajoRosajo: A really thick and heavy guide book, broken into sections. Full colour and beautiful. Maps, pictures of main attractions.... This has everything you need, including a free pull out map of paris..
Probably not handbag friendly though as this book is heavy.
So glad I bought it, now I have multiple reasons to fly to France
