Tanja: Used this for our 1 month travel to Ireland last year.
It was comprehensive and complete without feeling overwhelming with hotel or restaurant info. Liked the "must sees" and when we had more time in a place we would dig into the individual sections for more detailed information.

Raincoast BC: Bought in January 2019 to help with trip planning for September 2019. This book is FANTASTIC. It covers everything from food, drink, accommodations, sights, live music, attractions, events, off the beaten path options, and almost anything else you could possibly want to know before travelling. Highly recommend!

Lauren Duggan: Very thorough guide, though i’m sure you can find most of the info on google. I bought this knowing there was a map inside that I could take on my trip with me, and am very disappointed that it is only of Dublin, not all of Ireland. Nowhere on this listing does it say that information and I will only be in Dublin for a night. Just wanted to pass on that information for anyone else looking for the same thing.

R. F. Stevens: I chose this Lonely Planet guide to Ireland after considering several other guides that various friends already had, mainly because it had the best detail in the areas we wanted to visit, and it helped us to plan our visit.
The general information on what makes the island shared by Eire and Northern Ireland uniquely different from the rest of the world is very useful indeed and well worth a careful study before travelling - another of the main reasons we bought the book.
The maps in the guide are basic, and should only be regarded as an overview, and for proper navigation a good road atlas and satnav are essential.
A pad of 1" square post-its is a great help in marking the many points of interest through the book, 720 pages make it difficult to keep track of where one is in it.

B. McEneaney: Great resource to have on your trip. We just used it in Ireland (obviously) on our trip out west and south. Lots of great suggestions and everything was true to word. We used it every day and and enjoyed the guidance. I’m actually from Ireland and know most of the info in general but this was able to keep us on track when we got distracted (in a good way) in directing us to the best pubs, scenery, beaches etc. I would definitely recommend it for your trip.

Maura: This is a great tool helping my husband and I plan our trip to Ireland. As we haven't been there yet (I will check back in after May 11, 2019) I cannot speak to it's accuracy but it certainly is helping us at the moment. If you are reading this review and have any suggestions, please feel free to comment. :)

RebelDakota: I used this guide for my small group Ireland vacation - both for research before our trip and for when we were there. The tips were right on, and the info about things to see and do was in-depth, very readable, and gave me a better appreciation of attractions, history and people of Ireland. I checked out all the guides my local library carried, and Lonely Planet was the most useful. Highly recommended.

Amazon Customer: Being used to the format Lonely Planet uses for their travel guides, I find this book easy to navigate. Lots of information and helpful tips as always. One small drawback (not worth losing a star over) is that there's no map of Ireland as a whole, only the different counties. It requires some page-flipping, but doesn't matter in the big scheme of things.

Triumph: This is a very complete and detailed guide. Almost too much information as if that could be a bad thing. My only suggestion would be to have more maps near the beginning of various sections with the names of the cities/towns called out so it would be a little easier to see where they were in relation to one's planned route of travel. However, with a good map nearby this is not a big problem.
