Blueskies: Planning a camping visit later in 2023 , this large scale map with all the places of interest marked is exactly what we need in addition to our satnav. Excellent map

Susan Francis: Could not rate it high enough. Having never been to Ireland, the atlas was very important.
It was very easy to plan the route we needed to get to in Ireland. The map got us to our destination very easily.

tandaart: If you are going to Ireland and will be driving on the wrong side of the road, get this Atlas. Its big and bulky but well organized and put together. Along with a garmin and Ireland/UK map you will save yourself a lot of headaches.
Its important to use this before you take your trip. Much city and local info to plan your travel adventures. Set your saved places on the Garmin after reading and it will seem like you have your own tour guide.

Amazon Customer: This is exactly what I was looking for to plan our trip to Ireland. I like that it is spiral bound because I have made copies of the pages I need while we are there and have color coded them like the original map and plan to carry them in my purse as we explore Belfast and Dublin.
Only wish I could find a map that would show more details for the Antrim coast that we will be travelling to Bushmills and back, but this map would have to be ten times as thick to cover all the possibilities in Ireland.

Read BigRead Big: My husband and I recently took the Collins Ireland Comprehensive Road Atlas on a two-week vacation to Northern Ireland and the Republic. We rented a car and spent over 56 hours driving an entire circuit of the island, starting and ending in Dublin. We had a GPS and Google Maps on our phones, but learned from a previous trip that they are not always 100% reliable due to gaps in cell coverage. As Americans driving in unfamiliar territory, we are sometimes intimidated by traffic circles, a lack of street name signs and addresses, and the Irish directional arrows on signs (they can appear to point right or left when they actually mean straight ahead.) The Collins atlas set us straight when we got confused and reassured us that we were going in the right direction. We spent a lot of time in Gaeltacht areas where there is a lack of English signs. It helped immeasurably to be able to look ahead on the map at place names in both Irish and English (they are often very different.) Many road signs direct you towards the next sizable town instead of north, south, etc. By looking at the map, I could quickly see the names of all the towns ahead and reassure my husband (who did all the driving)...

M. Woodyard: We used this for a driving tour of Ireland June 2019. It was good to have map backup for the sat/nav. But there might be a better choice than this book.
Pros: good index page, good map overlap on edges, good "points of interest" section
Cons: the coil binding in the middle takes a lot of space and if your destination is near that it's very inconvenient. A stapled edition -- even though not laying flat as well -- would be a better choice.
Also the L roads aren't labelled, though often shown. And there aren't enough towns/villages labelled even though there is space to do so.
