anthracite2: I haven't gone to Poland yet, but, being familiar with Lonely Planet books (I've used them for several countries), this one will be fine. These guides stay current for several years. Their research has always been good and the tips are spot on.

D. Christiansen: A personal must have for scouting out a country/city before travel. Sure internet information if more timely but I like the feel of a book in my hand and the reminder of trips past looking at the spines of the book on my travel shelf.

Marsue: Lonely Planet books are always very informative, this one follows that theme. I would liked to have had some more pictures of places to visit, but the book contains all that is needed for a trip to Poland. There are unbiased reviews on places to stay, eat and visit. Very useful for the traveller and for short stays in the cities of Poland.

Colonel Canby: We spent a couple of weeks in Krakow and Wroclaw, and the Lonely Planet book served as an excellent guide to these cities. We relied on it for finding good places to eat, good sights to see, and for some Polish History 101 to appreciate what we were seeing.

Jeff T.: More current than some of the present range of Lonely Planets . Some nice tips for Krakow. Like most of the series though it could do with a good edit - far too much verbiage and repetition.

Anna G: I was slightly disappointed with this guide book actually. I bought a Rough Guide book the year before when going to Berlin and much preferred it. The writing style in the Rough Guide was much more user-friendly, in that it was less formal and had loads of underground recommendations, things you wouldn't find in other books. This one was pretty standard. Still it wasn't bad, just not great...

Amazon Customer: I liked this guidebooks brevity and viewpoint. It covered all the Polish destinations our tour went to, far beyond Krakow, Gdansk and Warsaw.

Eva: I bought this guide as a gift for my boyfriend prior to our first Poland trip together.
The guide was up to date and provided many interesting information in terms of what to see together with historical facts.
The restaurant recommendations were good, the only thing that we missed, were some more vegetarian options for eating out. From the guide it seemed there would be a limited choice of veg food, but we found that in reality there is plenty of Veg and Vegan restaurants for example in Gdansk and Warszawa. For the rest it is a good and classical Lonely Planet Guide.

Bill Grier: Poland is one of the most under-rated travel destinations on the planet (well, except, maybe, for the weather...) and this guidebook definitely adds value to the experience. Useful descriptions, good maps. I've used it on two trips to Poland. Recommended.
