Amy Hamilton: Product is good. Everything you need to know about Iceland. However, I ordered it 31st December as I was travelling to a Iceland on the 10th January so thought it would be plenty of time. Said it would arrive on the 8th January but arrived whilst I was already in Iceland. If you are buying this map just make sure it is well before you leave to visit the country.

Sam Monks: Easy to read and understand. Good use of pictures. We didn’t follow to routes set in the book but picked several.
It doesn’t include all the tourist sites but is good to get ideas from this book

H Langley: This guidebook packed in lots into a relatively thin book with just the right amount of detail and ideas for our two week tour, but it is badly let down by the map, which should be plasticised and expanded onto four sheets covering the NE, NW, SE and SW of the island.

Dan: If somebody said they wanted only one book for a trip to Iceland, this would be the book I would recommend if you're driving around the island.
We had three different tour guide books during our recent trip to Iceland. However, the other books weren't used nearly as much as this one was. We pretty much followed the path set by the book. The descriptions for the segments provided great context. The stops had sufficient information. The book gave estimated travel times. We had the part of the trip we were on bookmarked and would read what to expect next. Definitely helped direct our travels and got us to see things we wouldn't have otherwise.
I couldn't recommend this book enough.

HMS Warspite: Iceland's Ring Road has become one of those modern bucket list items. The trip should however not be undertaken lightly. The condition of the road and the weather may vary significantly, while the tourist infrastructure outside Reykjavik may be thin to non-existent. This Lonely Planet guide provides a decent introduction to planning your expedition.
Just under half the book discusses the Ring Road itself. Another significant chunk talks about the attractions of Reykjavik and other single point destinations. The last portion of the book covers practical information about being in Iceland, which may be different from what travelers may be used to in the U.S. and Europe. There is a handy pull-out map at the back. The book has a nice selection of photographs and sketch maps.
At less than 150 pages, the book can seem a little light on details. Adventurous travelers are highly encouraged to do more research, and to talk to the locals, especially in remoter areas. As other reviewers have noted, choices have to be made about what to see along the way. Recommended as a planning resource.

Jesus E Flores: Planning this trip is very exciting but one click online and you have hundreds of websites telling you about thousands of places to visit so it can be very overwhelming plus it’s very difficult to hit up every spot in a limited time the book helped me break down what I could do in my time frame and also Better plan it. Wish it had slightly more pictures but amazing authors!

ManyJades: I bought this book more as a keepsake, then actually planning on using it on the trip (silly, I know). For the vast majority of our time in Iceland, we had cellular access (Golden Circle and South), but this book was a great companion to the road trip. Google Maps on the phone for driving instructions, and the book would tell us where to go. Easy, clear instructions. Good maps. I made so many notes in this book... it truly became the keepsake I never knew I wanted. I highly recommend this book!

Katherine Murtha: This is a great packable book for highlights of the ring road in Iceland if you are renting a car. If you aren't renting a car and using a tour company, this guide would give you an idea of what attractions are where so you could schedule tours accordingly. There are a lot of nice photos of the must see attractions along Route 1 as well as maps to get you there. There are suggested itineraries for all regions with distances. If you want a more in depth guide to venture off the beaten path I would suggest purchasing "Lonely Planet Iceland" and/or "Frommer's Easy Guide to Iceland" in addition to this book. They are extremely lacking in photos but most small towns are covered as well as back country sites. We bought all three to plan our trip to Iceland.

longboarder: Even though our Tmobile phones had unlimited internet, We found many places to visit on our trip during the flight with this book. Then we saved the the locations on our Google Maps app. This way we were able to hit the ground running as soon as we got in our car. It also has a nice map to look at to get an idea of how far certain spots are.
