M. Fischer: My old Costco bought CyberPower 1000VA UPS backup batteries died. I was about ready to recycle this unit when I decided to disassemble it and see if I could simply replace the batteries instead. This unit uses two 12v7a batteries and these batteries were a perfect fit.
Installation is a little awkward due to the alignment of the cables and the weight of the batteries. But with patience, everything disassembled and reassembled without any major issues. In the end, instead of replacing the entire UPS, this UPS is once again working like new.
