SteveIK: It's a small book with recepies, but there are no photos in the book, only drawings. The book is printed on quality paper, and it looks nice on a coffee table.

Shana F.: Yes , this book is approximately 70 pages as per the description but not in the context of an adult hardcover book with accompanying colored pictures. It’s the size and weight of a baby/childrens book. I would say it’s more of a restaurant guide book with recipes and illustrations. I wondered why it only cost thirteen dollars. Now, that I have received/reviewed it I don’t think it was worth that much.

Jane Austen: I stayed at the Ritz London several years ago and enjoyed my experience of High Tea there. Tea, the room, service and food were spectacular. I was so happy to find this book, so that I can try to replicate my experience at home.
It has many wonderful recipes and tips for making tea, as well as information about tea.
I highly recommend.

Jan: why are the recipes so small as. to be unreadable? Not easy to follow. What a shame even opening them as full screen images gives no help the recipes are still in tiny print

Sweetpea: This was ok but although it seems the author has spent time in England, it feels like it might have been decades ago! Some of the references as to what the British do or like really had me going 'Huh?!' There are definitely some odd comments within it.
It could also do with an update. Since this was written, Afternoon Tea has had a huge resurgence in popularity which clashes with what it says in the book.
It is a small book, and beware, the print is also tiny! Some of the recipes seem good but some colour illustrations rather than black and white all through would have been nice.

Michelle L'Esperance Williams: This is the perfect book, for ANYONE who has ever savored a PERFECT CUP OF TEA, in sumptuous surroundings... this includes putting a special cloth on the kitchen table, and bringing out the best china, JUST BECAUSE !!! The English not only brought Tea from the East to Europe, they also managed to bring some of the ceremony with it. There is something very comforting in a ceremony. You might want to read this, whilst sipping a hot cup of tea !!! This book is a good read, as well as an elegant guide to this timeless ceremony. It is SO good, in fact, that I am going to buy ANOTHER as a CHRISTMAS GIFT !!!

That Girl: so well-written!!
i love the history in this book, i love how the images are in keeping with the victorian & edwardian times discussed in the book, & i love how the wording, grammar & writing style is also historically accurate to those times. hats are off to the author, she did an excellent job with the history, the tastefulness of her presentation and charm of her writing, not to mention the comfort of the topic.
the recipes are wonderful-sounding (i did not try any but i likely will when i buy a copy of this book for myself & have a ladies' tea), & are also in keeping with previous days' typical tea bites.
truly a charming little book; i read it in about 2-3 hours, and promptly purchased it for my tea-loving, victorian-mansionette-dwelling best friend for his christmas gift. i should just buy a copy for myself right now so i can have it & read it whenever i feel like it.
