I was drawn to this book as my parents lived locally and I've so many happy memories from the Mani area.
The book is beautiful from the food to the scenic photos that trigger so many wonderful memories of some of my favourite places.
The recipes are excellent and we've tried many of them however a few they are not ”classic" Greek or even Mani recipe’s but twists one familiar ones.
Overal and excellent book especially for anyone who loves the Mani (Particularly the Kardamyli & Stoupa area)

This is a beautiful, well illustrated cookbook that actually feels and looks like it could double as a coffee table book. The layout is great, the recipes are easy to read and see and the photos of the finished meals are mouthwatering.
I love Greek food. I wanted to be able to make the things in this book. But alas, this is a classy book with ingredients found at classy markets. I'm more of a Greek diner kinda lady, and this is definitely way more authentic and high brow for this naugahyde booth patron. It's so nice that I was embarrassed to keep this book because the expectation from kitchen visitors thinking I could use and create the masterpieces in this book would be misleading; more like cat fishing. I would be a fraud.
Get this book for someone who shops at Whole Foods or memorizes the Trader Joe's ads and can use the classy ingredients at those places to make the stuff in these pages. In the meantime, Vinton, Naomi and Bubba and me will be at Lancer's feasting on feta and tomato omelettes and feeling like international royalty while listening to Dottie West warble in the background.

The Roast Chicken with Lemon and Herbs is delicious. All recipes I have tried so far have been great.

Jacqueline Berg: This book came at just the right time while feeling particularly nostalgic for Greece and its incredible cuisine. The authors lead us through beautiful narrative of the cuisine of Kardamili through family storytelling. The recipes are approachable and insightful for those of us who are half a world a way.
