tim: Love the ease of installation into the ecosystem. Works great with routines, and schedules. Using the EVE app, it gives great stats for Usage and power consumption (which can be auto converted to cost if you plug in your energy cost - although it doesn’t do time of day billing calculations, so costs are only approximate if you have time of day billing).
I have 4 different brands of smart plugs and the eve energy is by far my favourite.

Robert Byrd: Excellent features for iOS owners. I like that it’s not a wi-fi device (think hack attacks). I don’t have any hub devices and to my surprise the Bluetooth LE signal coverage is excellent. It’s currently connected to an appliance in the basement and can be monitored from a second floor bedroom - so basically the whole house.
I chose the elgato unit because energy monitoring logs down to the minute and graphs in 10 min increments. Logs can be easily exported. I was actually looking for a cheap monitoring device (think popular Kill-A-Watt meters)... none of which log down to the minute w/o hacked add-ons. Now I know how often some appliances cycle on. And ON/OFF scheduling is a bonus! Once I’m done benchmarking appliances, it will automate my morning coffee.
One regret is not buying the 2020 version for basically the same price. I could return for free, but it seems the only upgrade is size (not BT improvements, etc.)
EDIT: I also read the 2020 version includes HomeKit code updates, but requires iOS 13 (2018 version only requires iOS 11).

Wisechoice: Updating my review -- after several days of reinstalling, resetting, repositioning, re-creating rules, and experimenting, I seem to have the sensors triggering the automation that I needed. The trick for air quality seems to be to set up a separate rule for each possible sensor value (poor, inferior, fair, good, excellent), rather than the suggested range ("worse or equal to good", etc.) The programming seems to be very picky about how a change in state is captured as a trigger, even when I can see the history of changes in values. There were a lot more misses than hits happening. Far more work than it should have been, but at least it works now.
Original review:
Honestly, this is pathetic. I bought these devices (an Eve Room and a 2-pack of Eve Energy) for my health after being diagnosed with chronic bronchitis. I wanted a solution for air purification and humidifier while I sleep--so that if things get too dry or too humid, or if the air quality drops, the automation takes over without leaving things running the whole night through. Thought this was the perfect solution and that it would make a meaningful difference. Oh man, am I disappointed. Literally not a...

Danny MDanny M: Ok - so I will start by saying that this device was a pretty expensive way to figure out that our teenage child was watching tv at night after going to bed, which explained the constant tiredness. I hated having to resort to this, but problem solved!
The setup itself is very easy if you have Apple products and use Homekit. Download the Eve for Homekit app (instructions are a bit outdated and may point you to "Eve for iOS" app, which is outdated), punch in an 8 digit code that is on the product and you are done. The App will have a feel similar to the Apple Home app and you can use it as a substitute to control (also non-Eve) lights and other devices you might have. To be honest, the thing is so simple I have no idea how it even works so smoothly - I assume it's talking with my Apple TV (which acts as a hub) via Bluetooth, because I can view data and control it from my phone while away from home on a LTE network.
The plug can be turned off from the app, and you also get information by day/hour/week/or month about power consumption. The data is stored on the device (tech support says it can store 2-3 weeks but when you open the app the data will be transferred to your...

Chris Higgins: I bought one of these because I have an office-slash-recording studio, and I wanted a way to issue a single command to a voice assistant to enter "recording mode" (all fans off, all noise-producing things off), then "editing mode" (turn those back on, plus set the lights a certain way). Currently I have a small fish tank, a small desk fan, and a small air purifier connected to this switch.
Using an Apple smart speaker, I am able to do this. It just works. I have never had it NOT work in response to a voice command, which is great (whereas some of the smart lights, from another vendor...well, they USUALLY work but not always).
The only downsides I can see to this thing are that its ability to measure energy usage seems way off. I have tried testing a variety of items at the wall (including the power strip literally connected to this item), and they don't match up well. While I didn't buy this thing for that feature, I would caution that even if it does work (which I'm not convinced of), using the app to get at that data is yucky. That's the other downside. The app to control the device is poorly designed. It "works," it's just ugly and requires a LOT of fiddling to...

Christian: After initial install, you'll have to download the latest firmware, but what they don't tell you (unless you dig through their FAQ) is that you'll have to restart your iPhone after the firmware update in order for it to work. Small hurdle, though, and then you'll never have another problem again. I've had half a dozen around my home for 3 months now and have had zero problems. The range is excellent, and the fact that they don't use energy until activated (either manually, through voice, or automatically through automations) is a plus as well (not to mention how easy to use yet powerful and informative the native Eve app is).

kc reviews: So far I'm enjoying the Elgato Eve Energy Switch & Power. I've been looking for a HomeKit enabled outlet switch for a while and have tried iDevices and WeMo switches. Here is a quick rundown of what I think of each
iDevices Switch is an overall good product and has the cleanest and most modern product design of the bunch (in my opinion). It has a nice feature of having a night light that you can turn on or off separately from what you are powering. However the app setup is trickier of the bunch, and the product continually lost connection for me so I was not able to power it via HomeKit because of lost connections.
WeMo has the best packaging, app design and setup. However the product is bulky, and took up the most space. It took up so much space that I was unable to use the second outlet. And, it was not HomeKit enabled. It lost connection on my a couple of times and sometimes the app would hang and spin for me. I really wanted to like this device because it was promising but not being HomeKit enabled where I can access Control Center to quickly control my outlets gave this product a bit too much friction for me.
ElGato Eve energy is also bulky but does...

JU: These plugs are great, not so much for $130. I paid $80 and that was fine. They are Homekit only which is perfect. Why do I want to sign up and log into some company's service to use my smart home utilities. That being said, if you plan on controlling them away from home you need an apple tv or homepod speaker to act as a hub, otherwise they connect to homekit on your phone via bluetooth. Setup was painless. Being able to keep track of electricity use and other metrics with the eve app is a nice bonus, it too is easy to use.
