Rutice: The Fast Fire series of fire steels are a modern take on the classic military style firesteel. The modernized handle and magnesium provide the user with a plethora of fire-starting power. The handle is its own emergency firestarter, combined with the ease of use of magnesium. As noted by other reviewers, the magnesium will run out before the striker ever does; however, for the cost-to-utility ratio, this is well worth the purchase for any outdoorsman.

D. Sweet: This is 1 of the best for starters I've ever used. Everything you need except wood. Works in wet conditions as well. Great product.

D. Jean: The Fire Fly is a small, light weight fire starter that for the most part get a fire started on the first strike. The amount of magnesium shaving you get from each rubbing is small and so it time consuming to get an adequate amount. I found it wasn't worth the effort. I used my to start a fire in the fire base of a Kelly Kettle Trekker.
