I ordered this product and the smell is similar to lemon or orange. The only down side was that the product wasn't sealed like it suppose to be (by a little plastic film) like my 2 other orders... I was very lucky that it didn't when all over the box !!

Mike: I don't see why there are bad reviews on this. It smells great. I don't smell the "artificial" scent people are complaining about, but everyone's olfactory sense is different I suppose. Great bang for the buck Grapefruit oil. I use in my Lampe Berger oil. (10 drops oil to 500 ml 99% rubbing alcohol).

AnnieSan: I have purchased several essential oils from NOW company, however, was disappointed with this grapefruit. The scent is not similar to the other grapefruit that I bought and the consistency of the oil is not the same as well. The light yellow/ orange color is separating ( floating) from the oil .

a.e.and: I have been using essential oils for aromatherapy, household uses like cleaning and laundry, and topically for various issues for about ten years. I've tried a lot of brands, from cheaper off-brands to the pricey, high end essential oils that a friend of a friend is always trying to sell me (I'm not the only one, right?!), and all the other brands in between. Recently, I've fallen in love with NOW essential oils. The quality is great and the price is amazing for what you get. As a comparison, I would say that the quality of NOW oils are usually on par with Aura Cacia essential oils (the kind they sell at Whole Foods and other health food stores). Not once have I gotten a NOW essential oil where I questioned if it might be a synthetic fragrance oil. I would know, because synthetic fragrances instantly cause my nose to stuff up and often give me headaches and nausea and I have gotten a few through cheap retailers and some shady sellers on Amazon.
Specifically, this grapefruit essential oil is really nice. I use it in a few different ways. I love to mix it with a few other essential oils in my oil diffuser. It goes great with lemon, bergamot, and a little pine for a super...

Cattle Pillar: I am so in love with essential oils. I started collecting them when I started to make all my own cleaning supplies. I make my own laundry detergent and every other cleaner you can think of. A favorite of mine, and one I am most addicted to, is what I refer to as my "everything spray". It is very simple to make. I use 1 part bottom shelf vodka to 2-3 parts distilled or RO water in a spray bottle (ex: 1 cup vodka, 2-3 cups water), then use essential oils to scent it. I have used many combinations such as cinnamon, orange, and clove for the bathroom, a mix of lavender, eucalyptus, and orange for my living room and so on and so forth. I have bottles of spray in each bathroom, in the kitchen, and in strategic places for use in every room. I use it to refresh clothing, furniture, wipe down counters. I spray the curtains for freshness. I use it to wipe down my coffee tables. In the bathroom it makes a nice freshener and daily shower spray. It even polishes chrome fixtures up so nicely. If I am expecting visitors, everything gets a quick spray down and my house always smells fresh and clean even if I slack off on the actual cleaning a little bit. Anyway, right now I am really stuck on...

NoMorePlandemics: Grapefruit essential oil is among my favorites, but this recent bottle is not up to standards. It smells more like oil from grapefruit not allowed to ripen enough, and is totally lacking any of the sweetness that usually accompanies fresh ripe grapefruit. This one has a harshness to it.
I've switched to a different brand because I'm tired of wasting money on the NOW essential oils that disappoint more often than not.
It will be usable only if I blend it with something sweet to offset the harshness.
