Ergonomic Bicycle Floor Pump from BV - Ideal for Quick and Easy Bike Inflation

Ted: It’s true this air pump’s gauge is not accurate. But I always check with my own pressure gauge anyway for consistency and to be 100% sure. This pump’s gauge reads 3 lbs over what my gauge reads every single time, so I use that for reference.
The main purpose of this pump is to supply a vast amount of air and it does it well at a very decent price.

Myles: Here's a recipe for a happy user- create a simple and effective design, chose good materials and put them together well. It is easy to set up, effective and the gauge can be clearly seen when pumping. I can't verify accuracy as I haven't got a perfectly calibrated gauge to compare the readings with--but I've been feeling that my tyres were running soft, and that is exactly what this showed, and inflated to the recommended psi for the tyre using this pump has resulted in a noticeably better ride. So the accuracy is likely to be good. I'm well happy.

Doctor A.: This pump is a winner! This BV silver pump replaces a very expensive Specialized pump that lasted for 12 years. The old pump still works fine, but the cast aluminum base finally cracked and broke off on both sides and is unrepairable.

I read the many reviews on this BV pump and was a bit skeptical about it being of equivalent quality. To my pleasant surprise, it is actually a much better product.

The design, build quality and fit & finish of the BV pump are top notch. The pump applies full pressure at the very beginning of the down-stroke. The operation is quite smooth with no undue squeaks, rattles or leaks. The pump base is plastic (probably nylon), but very rugged and well designed with lots of reinforcement. I expect it will last for years.

The pressure guage is accurate at 45 lbs. and at 105 lbs. It inflates my mountain bike and road bike tires quickly and easily. I am very pleased that the dual Schrader/Presta valve head works flawlessly and it seals completely.

I did notice that after 100 psi, the pumping action requires a fair bit more rigor. If inflating to the maximum 160 psi, you'll probably get quite a workout.

SA: The BV Bike Pump appears to be a decent pump. Certainly better than Schwinn that I bought at a big box store. I've always good luck with BV products. Reasonably priced and good build quality. The BV pump worked comparably to my old Topeak Joe Blow (which is out of state right now). After reading other comments, I am wondering about the gauge. However, tires are OK. The BV pump is nice and light compared to the topeak. Easy to setup and use.

Tobias Jost: im Angebot für Fahrrad/Auto usw gekauft. Macht nach einer Handvoll Einsätzen bisher einen guten Eindruck. Sieht wertig und stabil aus und kann tatsächlich Sachen aufpumpen.. mehr gibt's zu ner Pumpe nicht zu sagen.
Für meinen Geschmack könnte die Anzeige weniger hoch skaliert sein und dafür etwas größer / lesbarer.

Kevin Yu: After doing some homework on a good floor pump for our bikes, this pump was recommended by numerous websites/blogs. It was oftentimes listed alongside of other pumps costing 2-3x more. I'm thrilled with this purchase and glad I didn't spend more.

Pros:
- Price: at half to 1/3 the price of others, this floor pump is a great value!
- Presta & Schrader valve: my wife and I have bikes with different tire valves. This pump works well with both valve types.
- Straightforward and easy to use: I read some reviews that this floor pump needs "more feet on it" to keep it upright. I don't have this problem and find it perfectly sufficient. It's also easy to pump and the handle is sufficiently comfortable.
- Gauge: I also came across a review that said this gauge is small and hard to read. I don't agree with this complaint. I'm 5'11" and I find the gauge to be easy to read.

Negatives:
- After over a month of use, I have not identified any at this time.

David Hill: I got this pump based on many favorable reviews I read on here beforehand, and also because I needed a good pump for my bike tires. I've had countless fails with pumps, the last being the Black & Decker Air Station which was a disaster and lasted a few times before breaking, perhaps because of a blown fuse; I'll steer clear of the Black & Decker, and hope that this BV Pump withstands the test of time. I have another foot pump that sort of works, but it takes stupendous muscular action to get it to pump up my bike tires - and it doesn't have a p.s.i. meter like this pump either...

This nice little yellow pump - I got the yellow because it's cheery and was a bit cheaper on Amazon than the silver at the time of purchase - worked splendidly at pumping my bike tires up to 55 p.s.i. with such little arm effort. The only effort comes from getting the nozzle to come off of your valve stem once you're done pumping your tire up. I've only used the Schrader side of the nozzle (no Presta side) which is a very snug fit, so be gentle and wiggle it off of there so it doesn't damage your hand when you're lifting up on it to take it off after first releasing the...
