Maopicoto 28: The media could not be loaded.

Poisoncub: I was very surprised when I received this guitar, for a lower end budget guitar it’s really nice. The maple neck with a rosewood fret board looks sweet and the humbucker pickups are not bad. Only thing I would didn’t like is the “D” shape neck, I prefer a “C” shape but it’s all up to personal preference. Rock on!!

JayJayJayJay: OK in all seriousness this is a good buy. I paid just over 370 once handling and tax charges were added to my bill.

The guitar came in perfect condition. Zero scratches or marks. It literally was flawless. The rosewood fretboard needed sanding and oiling and the frets were a little sharp but thats ok with a new guitar. I bought some fleur alinco 5 humbucker pickups to upgrade the epiphone pickups. I wanted to get the best possible sound out of the guitar that my budget would allow. I realized that the guitar sounded great with the factory pickups and changing them was pointless for me so I sent them back.

Unless you know exactly what sound your going for this guitar already has a nice les paul sound. As my first electric, this guitar sounds better than all the electric guitars I've tried. I've tried 7 other guitars from friends and when I played the les paul special 2 without an amp I realized that It will sound great plugged in and It has great acoustic resonance without being plugged in. I honestly sort of fell in love with it.

If I would buy again. I would buy the guitar separately from the player pack. For 200 dollars I would get the guitar and buy a nice...

Alex F. BrillantesAlex F. Brillantes: Except for a guitar stand which you could purchase cheap from Chromacast (about $16), this package comes complete and well-built. I ordered this last Sunday p.m., delivered Monday eve. and now my Tuesday p.m. review. Super-quick delivery.

I was pleasantly surprised at the superb quality of the guitar and also of the other items that came with it.

First, the guitar. The finish is flawless. The frets needed a bit of filing at the ends ... a bit of smoothing the top and bottom ends (normal for new guitars and not to be construed as a bad thing). The mahogany neck is super straight and the bow is properly adjusted (no need to adjust the truss rods) ... btw, the hex tool for the truss rod comes with the package as well. You can tell immediately if the neck is crooked by visually lining up the dot inlays between the 3rd and 4th strings.

The tone is amazing. The humbuckers (rhythm or neck pickup and the treble or bridge pickup) gives out a monstrous tone and the pickups were adjusted properly at the factory for height or string gap; the switches work fine. This guitar is not necessarily for beginners. I've been playing guitars for 54 years and this one will rank up...

Browning: great beginner package. Guitar and amp are solid and well packaged and received in a very timely manner.

once I opened the package I noticed the two knobs were slightly loose but they simply needed a little tightening. Other than that everything else was Well shipped, packaged, and tight. A quick note on adjusting your internation on the bridge. If you need more room for the saddle to travel you have the option of flipping the saddle around for that one single string. search YouTube on how to do that. It's a little tricky compared to other bridges on Gibson guitars. better quality bridges will come with a wire holding all the screws down. This bridge each screw is held down by individual washer in the shape of C. to remove this washer you will need a pair of very small needle nose pliers or tweezers used for crafts for jewelry repair. Once its out you can unscrew it and flip it around. Don't try to force the screw or the washer by over tightening the screw you will simply snap the screw head and then you will be up the proverbial Creek.

I have also noticed swapping out the bridge it's slightly tricky as this bridge seems to be just a hair smaller then a standard...

David Johnson: ORIGINAL REVIEW: DAY 1 - I just got this guitar kit today, and I will have plenty to say about it as I use it more but I wanted to go ahead and submit my review of my first impressions before I start working on the guitar because I don't want to forget to mention anything. Overall, it seems pretty solid and I am sure it will make a nice instrument after I put in some work on it. For right now, I am giving it three stars, but I still feel like I got a bargain and I don't mind putting in a little extra work for the money I saved on this kit.

So, there were a few things wrong right away, and I feel they are worth mentioning:
1. The amp power cord is packed in the gig bag pocket with no protection for the power prongs. As a result, the prongs tore through the gig bag and the box. It looked like they were also touching the chrome bridge on the guitar, but thankfully the bridge was not scratched. The gig bag now has two holes and I had to bend the prongs back into shape to plug the amp in. It still works fine, though, and I don't care about the holes in such a cheap gig bag.

2. The high E string was broken. This may have been caused by the power prongs I mentioned...

Shane: This guitar set is the PERFECT set up for the beginner. The guitar itself costs $169 on Amazon. This set comes with a small practice amp, cable to attach guitar to amp, nylon guitar strap, a few pics, a guitar tuner, and a gig bag, which by itself sells for $19. The great thing about this is it is specificlly aimed at the beginner, and comes with everything you need to start playing right away, without having to do homework and figure out the accessories you want/need when as a beginner you don't really know and aren't that interested in, you just want to start playing! Well not only is the guitar in this set a really good quality guitar, you get the periphery items that will definitely work for you as you're just starting out, that you will very much most likely upgrade after you figure out what you want. The amp is a really nice amp. It is small and louder than you'd imagine. It has bass and treble settings, a headphone out jack, and an input that you can plug a standard ipod headphone cable into so you can play your ipod out the amp speaker and "jam" along. The cable that attaches to the guitar and to the amp is about ten feet long, one end is right angled. The amp runs off...
