G A.: A great book kids and teenagers. It is brought to life with all the statistics cards so if you're looking for a good read then this is the book for you

Nhi: So, near the end of the first book, my 9-year-old looked at me and asked, "Is the kid the bad guy?"

SPOILERS BELOW

He has a point. The kid makes terrible choices that get his family kidnapped, but they shrug it all off at the end and he never has to deal with what he did. The strangest part was when the kid mind-controls villians in a prison to use as fodder in the final battle against the invading aliens, getting them killed in the process -- and no one cares of even notices that this is a pretty evil thing to do. My son and I were both a bit appalled at that.

There's a rivalry between the kid and his older sister that vanishes without much logic at the end of the book. My son asked me why she was suddenly being nice, and I couldn't explain it.

Finally, the story heavily involves a girl character who gets killed for no particular reason other than motivating the boy character.

Other than that, a lot of mua-ha-ha-ing and the kind of writing that makes you try not to grimace as you read out loud. We haven't bothered with the second book in the series. I might skim through it to see if things improve, but honestly it was pretty substandard for a...

bhappy: My grandson and I read the book at night together and couldn't put it down! Thanks for an exciting book for my 10 year old grandson!

C. Mick: (7 year old) Its the awesomest book that I’ve ever heard. It’s a super good book and I love it. I love it the most of all super Duper Duper hero kids.

(Adult) this was a fun series to read to my son. Each of the three books were separate stories but they all tied together. It was a pretty easy read most chapters were 10ish pages long but read fast. My son loved them and is looking forward to the 3.

I’d recommend these books if you want a series with a kid main character for a super hero loving kid!

MRS Seitz: Great book for kids learning self esteem, love how the book was written, it engages kids very well. I wish there were three separate books instead of all in one book.

Paul D. Camarata: This story truly sparked my 8-year-old son's imagination. He read the entire series in a matter of about a month. When there was some downtime between purchasing the next book, he would re-read the book he was currently on.
By the time he got to the last book series, he finished about 500 pages worth in 24 hours. If your child has previously only read graphic novels and comics, this would be an amazing transition to more words and chapters. In our case, it has resulted in lists, games, and unique characters my son made up to complement these books. I Highly recommend it to your young reader!

Adlibbs: I don’t have anything against comics - because of books like DogMan and Bad Guys, my kiddos are veracious readers. I kept trying to introduce them to non-comic books, mainly because they would read through their comics soooooo fast. So at night, we read Epic Zero together. My oldest - who was 7 at the time, ATE IT UP. LOVED IT. She decided to start reading it during the day so that she could read ahead, and when the book was done, she brought it to school to read there. Then, she begged to read the sequel by herself. She was a huge fan. My kids still LOVE their graphics novels - but now I get to slide in a long chapter book now and again into the rotation.

Xuan Quach: My son is really enjoying listening to the book, he likes to hear me read to him rather than reading himself. We finished the first book in a day and a half!
