Comments

G. Noe: This book is setting me free from years of suffering with thoughts of punishment. I am learning the truth of the New Covenant Jesus purchased with His blood and the finished work of the cross. I highly recommend this book to anyone needing to know the Father's love and His discipline of setting us free from sin!!!

Loral Robben: I had to rethink everything as I read this book. I came out at the end of the book, a better man.

Annie Kay Grady: Unpunishable put words to so many areas of my heart and life that had been difficult to bring to speech.
It uncovered how much healing my heart needed in the area of seeing myself as a dearly loved Child of God, versus an orphan that had to beg or perform to get acceptance. An orphan who when I made a mistake, hurt others, misrepresented Him instead of running to Him, I would try to keep it hidden, make excuses, cover up and try to avoid anything that was difficult and required effort.
I let shame and fear and desire for control keep me distant .Unpunishiable helped me no longer to be afraid to show up fully before Him in the Light of His Love. My trust in His kindness towards me and belief that He rejoices over me with singing began to ring truer each chapter of this book.
I uncovered many broken places inside me and saw the roots of how they were attached to multiple lies that affected multiple areas of my relationship with the Father, with myself, my family and others.
I realized that I have been living way beneath my privileges as a daughter of God. I have let shame-fear-doubt unbelief be the main narrative of my heart and mind. Unpunishable has flipped that...

DebzyB: "Unpunishable" paints a clear picture of the Biblical path from sin to restoration for everyone from the repentant and unrepentant sinner to the forgiving and unforgiving wounded, and the leaders in their lives, using God's word, to remind us who we are because of Him.

Carole Cullen: A book I should have had years ago. This is a life changer.

Carolyn: ...would have grown up in a very different culture.
I hate the level of truth that Mr. Silk reveals because it took me to the "if only" place as a parent but the revelation of Papa God's heart for me and my husband released me, us from guilt and shame. It is a deeply transforming view which I will reread to get the fullest understanding of. Believer or not this is an amazing read for understanding true reconciliation and the forgiveness process.

Karen Jackson: Such an important book for today!!

M. Derwin: This book outlines a way of helping and loving ourselves and others that is so encouraging! It will propel you to be a better parent, spouse, teacher - well, just about anything you do will be with a new perspective and true peace and freedom. As times I was just wrecked with love at this new understanding that the punishment paradigm I was raised in and lived in most of my life was not what God wanted for me. He has so much more for us and loves us more then we can imagine. Danny explains - wonderfully the work of repentance how to get into right relationship with God and restore relationships and trust. Punishment is so ingrained in our culture...it creates fear and shame but it is not part of the Kingdom culture we are called to. I could say more, but you should just read it. I am thankful I found the book and know I will be a better grandparent and person because I did.

Tim: There is a clear difference between punishment and discipline. The title of this book on first glance gives the impression that people should not be held accountable for their mess. The mistake is we think punishment is the way to hold people accountable. Punishment is not the way. Discipline is the way. Take a journey in this book and learn how to show love through forgiveness and discipline while being able to get people to clean up their mess and walk into a transformed life, free of fear, free to be vulnerable, protecting relationships and connections.

I recommend for every Christian who desires to mature and walk in love.

Joel: This book is a great follow-up after Culture of honor on a similar topic. One of the things I like about Danny is that he is not afraid to challenge people's perspective and I guarantee that he does just that again with this book.

In Culture of Honor, he starts with saying that repentance and punishment are two separate things and repentance does not necessarily mean punishment. This rocked my world, so when he released Unpunishable, I had to get it so that I could understand more about what he meant by that.

There are stories I have heard from Bethel Church about people who have walked through terrible betrayals in their home and church and have been walked through not just repentance, but restoration through repentance. Although I'm not sure the picture can be completed by just reading and following a book, I believe that this is a good place to start to explore the idea of repentance and what it truly means to a Christian in relationship with Jesus. I would have all of my leaders read this book and catch Danny Silk's heart for repentance and restoration.

Get this book especially if you are a leader, but if you also want to have proper Godly relationships...
