Andre Andraos: I've always doubted myself and thought there was something wrong with me for having so many interests and passions, and for diving deep into one subject only to dump it later and jump into the new shiny thing. Until I came across Emilie's TedTalk and read her book. It was such a relief knowing that this there's nothing wrong with me and this is just the way I am: a multipotentialite.

Gheorghe: I always heard beautiful things about this book, and since I could see myself with all the "multipotentialite" thing, I've decided to give it a try.
Well, no offense to the author, but this isn't a book. If you're used to real books you'll soon notice that the author have written an internet post rather than "a book", but that's just flavour.
The author states some arguments about being "multipotentialite" and similar, and than repeat the same concepts again and again. You could literally read the first 30 pages or a summary and you'd be done.
I've bought the book in hope to find some useful suggestions in how to live a life being passioned about everything and wanting to do everything, but I have found nothing about that, or even if I did, it was something that everyone knows or have already read or heard.
And, being honest, I don't enjoy so much all this "being a multipotential" thing.
If we stop for a second and try to critically analyze it, is there seriously a division between specialists and generalists? Are we sure that these two categories exists and they aren't just an our invention to try feeling special and "different"?
I don't know, surely I am an...

joancdesigns: If I'm honest with myself, I silently scoffed when I read the title - How to be Everything. And I'm a big fan of the author! But, I gotta say that the book delivers in ways I hadn't expected. I've watched the author's TED talk, I follow her website/blog and I still learned some new things that I found uplifting, validating, and encouraging. The way the author categorizes career paths for multipods was enormously helpful for me. If only I had had this book 30 years ago. The author's work in general, and this book specifically, are a true gift to those of us who feel confused, frustrated, paralyzed by the tsunami of ideas and creative urges that we try to juggle every day. If you're a multipotentialite, this is a great book for your library.

Mom in LA: I like this book but not as much as the Barbara Sher book "Refuse to Choose" which is why I gave it 4 instead of 5 stars. But both have their merits. This one is more about the empathy for those who like a lot of different things but not as helpful practically as the Barbara Sher book.

J. A. Lopez: Emilie Wapnick rose to fame after her TED talk "Why some of us don't have one true calling" that has almost 4M views. Emilie has devoted to help people who are "multipotentialites" or someone with many interests and creative pursuits. This book is an extension of her talk giving anecdotal support to what multipotentialites are, and what they do to be more effective in spite of their multiple interests and lack of consistency.

The book is a good intro for multipotentialites, a feel good, "Welcome to the tribe" (as the title of one the chapters) book. It provides some tools to assess if one is indeed a multipotentialite and its kind. Finally it offers some tools to improve effectiveness. However the books is somehow soft, in a way it is expected since the core idea of multipotentialites is that they don't follow social norms on how to live ones lives. Nonetheless, that softness seems like a rationalization, an excuse to fail on delivering. Like it or not multipotentialites live in the real world where people expect results on time, on cost and on quality, no excuses.

Hope Wapnick work gets the attention in academic circles to become a research subject and thus future...

Amazon Customer: This book is awesome! It presents the idea that you don't have to choose a single, linear career path and provides ideas to make a varied, personalized career a reality. It is simple, direct, honest, and the advice can be applied to just about anyone, no matter where you fall on the multipotentialite-specialist spectrum. You will not find these ideas in any other career book (that I have read at least), and as a "multipotentialite" college student I found it immensely useful. It is a much more holistic career book that challenges you to decide what you want your lifestyle to look like - how much money do you really need? Would you rather have a varied job or an easy job that allows you to pursue interests on the side?

I would recommend this book especially to high school and college students who are trying to decide their next steps in life, but I could see anyone from middle school to retirement enjoying this book. It is a fast, easy read (very unlike most self-help or career books) and I have found myself referencing back to it multiple times over the past few weeks. If you're on the fence, check out Emilie's TED talk to get an idea of what the book will cover - it is...
