Parks: I like that it is written from the interviewer's point of view. It gives you an idea of how to answer common questions. You still have to make the answers your own based on your own experience.

deepmoon: A bit dated. Today I find the interviews are more weighted toward technical aspects of the job. Yet this is still a very valuable tool to prepare for interviews. I found it immensely helpful.

Pat Henrichs: I did not properly understand, but this book is a supplemental book to her primary book about interviews. While the questions and discussion in this book are helpful, much of the discussion references concepts not presented here. There is not even an introduction that mentions you should read the other book first. That said, while there were a couple things I wanted to better understand about the way the author thinks of interviewing, I did not and have not read the first book and still found some usefulness in this one.

Tomie Phan: This book goes through traditional questions like: "
Do you prefer to work in a team or alone"
and
"What motivates you"
and helps understand what the interviewer is actually looking for in an answer as well as how best to answer these questions.
Great book to polish up your interview skills.
Format and structure of the book isn't that great.

Kitzler: The beauty of this book, is it doesn't give answers, but rather it deciphers what the interviewer is asking. It's very well written and takes a simple question and lays out what is REALLY being sought in an answer. You then have the ability to cater your answers to your role instead of having a simple generic response to spout to give an interviewer.
This book is not full of revelations you never would have come up with by yourself. Instead it really puts you in the mindset of an interviewer and the path of an interviewer to determine you're a good fit for a role or not. After reading this, you'll feel fully charged and walk into an interview with a strategic mindset of how sell yourself.
My only complaint is this book needed a better editor. There is a lot of redundancy. There are about three separate questions in regards to salary, for example, and while helpful the first time, it gets a little old after a while reading the same plan phrased a little differently. There are several questions which are pretty much repeating the same thing. I think this could have easily been subtitled "75 Tough Interview Questions."
Regardless, it's a great read and a quick prep for an...

ReaderCris: I've recently decided to leave my job and have some interviews coming up soon. I haven't changed jobs in 6 years so need to refresh my interview skills. I purchased this book as it seemed different to the other books about job interviews that I could find.
The book itself offers very practical advice for how to answer common interview questions. This includes best-practice answers to give to interview questions. Even if you are asked questions that are not in the book in an interview, the analysis that the author offers around each question will help you think about how to approach other types of questions. The questions that are analysed in the book range from the very common to some that are quite abstract!
Overall, I would thoroughly recommend this book as a very useful tool in preparing for job interviews.

Roy Wyatt: What can I say but wow, Peggy McKee has not only put a lot of thought and professionalism in this book but it is literally a step by step instruction on how to go through today's modern day interview process. It used to be that anyone who had a particular skill set or talent could walk into any job interview with confidence in knowing that they could get that position and get a answer that day and land the position, this is no longer the case in today's market place or arena.
If you aren't prepared to satisfy the hiring manager's questions when going through that interview there is always that possibility that the person in front of you or behind you will have the answers that the manager is looking for, this book eliminates that fear, if you go into that interview with the answers that this book teaches you, you not only go in with a confidence that you didn't have before but the fear and the pressure isn't present like it would be if you haven't read the how to answer interview questions going in on the blind side, Peggy McKee is the ultimate professional and knows what she is talking about it seems to me that while writing this book she took the prospective of sitting in...

Lola: I personally found this book very helpful when prepping for a recent interview. Really gives you a better understanding of why the interviewer is asking a question and how to strategically answer it.
