Juli: This is a great book! I could not put it down. There is a lot of interesting things about her life I never knew till reading. She is an amazing woman. Please give this a read.

Heidi S.: Growing up in the 90s, we recorded our favorite movies on VHS. My favorite VHS tape had Beetlejuice, Elvira, and Adventures in Babysitting on it. I would rewind and watch that baby on repeat! Elvira was always my idol, and I couldn't wait to grow up and be fabulous like her! How this book escaped my notice until now, I'll never know... but I'm glad I found it! I immediately ordered a copy and listened to the audio because, duh, who doesn't want Elvira to read them her life story. And what a fascinating life it was! Lots of ups and downs and just a real, genuine person at the heart of it all. I don't read many memoirs, but I knew I'd love this one!

Skgain: If you think it's just about her wonderful creation of Elvira, you ain't heard the half of it. From her childhood days filled with fun and heartbreaking pains, to a truly boggling, star-filled rollercoaster of young adulthood dotted with incredible celebrity meetings and globe-trotting that only the fearless youth could do, this biography packs it all in to bursting (much like a certain gals dresses!) I love the behind-the-scenes glimpses on how television and movies are made, but was pleasantly surprised to be totally absorbed by her personal story and her journey to today. Corny as it sounds, I feel like a personal friend of hers; not in a creepy way, but in that I feel such warm caring for her and her family and want nothing but the best Happily Ever After for her. And you know what? I think she's got it. Buy this book!

She begins her like as and exotic dancer, and her host of horror tv shows, then takes on the role of Elvira. Her career takes many ups and downs and she takes on many lovers. Some very famous like Elvis Presley. All who use and abusee her. She continues her studies in music. dance, and finance funding several of her movies herself. She finally gives up men, and marries a female who she spends her life with. The book is full of great photos of her life, her roles and her new mate.
A great memoir in every way, and can be reread many times as i did.
