camille d.: Updated again. It was not the unit. It was a full string of lights that went out. I replaced the lights and it is working just fine again. So I am back to my four stars. So glad.
Update. I purchased Nov. 2022 and now July 2013 and it is not working. It has power but the lights won't come on even though everything is plugged in. I have un-plugged it and such but nothing. Not sure what to do and I threw away the original instructions.
I bought this for outdoor lights and not having to unplug and plug in. Works fine. I am not quite sure how to program, but I am sure not hard to do. I just turn it on/off when I want. Really love not having to trek outside to turn on lights.

StockGuy: I bought this to regulate some laser lights in my house in my den. From the descriptions and images on the Amazon website I thought I could set a time period for, say, 4 hours, and it would turn the lights off after that period. I pushed the 4 hour button and no power. I tried all the other timed settings, no power. I pushed "ON" and the power came on. I read the instructions and it says those time periods are only for after sundown when the device's photocell determines it is dark enough to come on. This doesn't work as a timed period of power if it isn't being used as a photocell.
