KA: While I only needed 4 of these, 25 was the smallest amount that I could find online. I am very happy with these, as they feel solid and they hold well in wood. This does mean that they can be tough to install but it is worth it.

R Storey: These are very good quality, easy to install, and solve a multitude of challenges in a woodworking shop. I use them mainly for making jigs. Install one of these, add a bolt with a star knob and a slat of wood with a slot in it, and you have a hold-down for your table-saw sled. Add one to the MDF top of my workbench, and I can mount the base of a guitar-repair vise which I don't want on the workbench top all the time. Threaded inserts, t-bolts, t-nuts, and t-track...instant jigs and more useful work surfaces!

Happy Jack, in his shack.: I was fighting some patio doors that had some moisture damage. The door jambs and entire wall had to be rebuilt due to moisture and termite damage, but the doors were in relatively decent shape other than some soft wood. Because wood screws had been installed, removed, and reinstalle several times, I tried several tactics from glueing wooden dowels in the holes to using longer, bigger screws. Nothing held and the doors wouldn't stay snug to the hinge. So, I got these and some 1/4-20 machine screws to do the job. After deepening the countersink on the hinges to fit the 1/4-20 hardware, I drove these inserts into the existing holes on the door and the jamb sides and then hung the hinges and doors. The doors went in perfectly level and are more solid and level than anything else in this poorly built shack that the real estate agent called a house when I bought it. There are enough left that I'm planning to rehang the front door (which sags and won't flush up to the hinges) and then anything else I find in the balsa wood framing the builder chose as "structurally acceptable' when they built thjs hut.

CustomerCA: I used them for different builds, I didn't encounter any issue with the insets but it happened that the wood inside was not hard enough.
I had to used a really small hole to make sure they are correctly secured inside the wood. Always used the drill and it was fine.

I mostly used them on soft wood (pine). Jot sure about hard wood. I reordered them as I was very satisfied.

Linda R. Pollard: These threaded inserts worked fairly well except when I tried to put them too close to a knot. The metal in the area of the hex driver is too thin and they split out and then they are impossible to get out unless you might have a proper sized easy out. The one that was too close to a knot had to be abandoned and moved over which I didn't like. They also don't necessarily go straight in the drilled hole. I had a few that actually moved to one side or the other which then didn't line up with the other part that the bolt goes through. I had two inserts split and four that moved one way or another.
