Even with a low power drain device such as a clock or a remote control, set a battery day and change these out. It is less expensive than replacing equipment. That said, these are the best of the alkaline batteries I have found. I've purchased over a million for cell phones, in production. (Special product).
Storage, unused, they meet spec. Power is at 1.5VDC - 1.6VDC when used. A pack of 6 will run many portable ham transceivers so I keep them in the go-kit. The COSTCO 20 pack is better value if you want that many batteries.
