Amazon Customer: Make sure you water the bit constantly. The only dislike I have is that it doesn’t have a center bit to help it stay in a certain area he says, but I do like that the shank on it where the drill chuck tighten down on is round and allows it to some what slip, yes you read it right. When you are reaching over the kitchen sink to drill a hole fore the soap dispenser you cant hold the drill straight 100% all the way through, so every time you move it starts to cath and yank the drill out of your hands so if the drill slips a bit it’ll only help you out from injuring you self. Towards the end I had to put mu drill into the screwdriver max torque position to allow it to slip because that drill getting jerked out of your hands is no joke

Woody1: Marketing and packaging has a lot more to do with this product than its use as a quality tool. The case is a great touch. Let's just get the elephants out of the room upfront though. The polished cylindrical shank is a poor choice for a tool that has to grind its way through hard materials. You can tighten the chuck on your drill until you're blue and it will still slip. a hexagon shank would make this a five star saw. The company is Diamond Tools, they are not coated with diamond dust. Even wet they will wear out quickly.

That being said, I used the 1-3/8" hole saw for cutouts in a granite sink that already had deep starter plugs. It made its way through 2 holes, while keeping it inside a plumbers putty damn of water. They struggled though and only had to travel a little more than 3/8". The grit on the bit will wear off in a heartbeat if you attempt to use these dry. Each hole saw was true to size and seemed capable of a couple full countertop cuts. This was a great alternative to paying a plumber $100/hr. so if I never use them again, I still came out ahead.

Peter Moss: I was quite pleased with the performance and quality of these diamond dust hole saws. I only needed the 1-3/16 and 1-3/8 inch sizes for my bathroom remodeling project. I used them to drill through the cement backer board and the tile for my tub spout and valve handles. I also used the 1-5/8 inch hole saw to make a 5-inch circular opening in my tile for the shower valve by drilling multiple overlapping circles. I got around the problem of not having a center guide bit by drilling slightly larger holes in some 1/2-inch plywood scraps and using them to keep the hole saw bit where I wanted it. I clamped the plywood guide to the tiles and then poured a little water into the guide block to keep the hole saw bits cool. There were other sets available a little cheaper, but this one came with a very nice foam padded case to keep the bits organized.

Greg GGreg G: I'm rebuilding the water feature in front of our house, and decided to make a rock bubbler this time. After looking around, I decided to try this set of hole saws.

Unfortunately, I didn't really think it through, because most of the cool looking rocks that I would like to use are far too thick for me to drill a hole with these bits, which can only go about 1 inch deep.

I found two relatively flat rocks that, when stacked, would look pretty nice, and decided that I would start with those, since I have zero experience drilling holes in stone. I used a plastic tub to contain the water, I placed the stones on small wooden blocks (to protect the tub), and I drilled a small hole in the lid of a water bottle to use as my cooling water supply. Using the lowest speed on my drill press (about 500 rpm), and applying a continuous stream of water, these bits cut through the rocks (which I think are granite, but I'm not 100% sure) quite nicely. When I reached the limit of the bit, I made some measurements and flipped the rock over and came in from the other side. TheDavid: Not a home improvement pro by any means but I bought this diamond hole saw set to install a reverse osmosis system under the kitchen sink. I needed it to drill a hole in the granite countertop for the reverse osmosis faucet.

It did the job but took a while to cut through the 1-inch thick granite countertop, maybe about an hour. I used the hole saw with a Ryobi power drill. It's my first time using a drill bit like this so I didn't know how long I could continuously use it or how much force I could apply. I took time to continually renew the cooling water. In fact, I could smell the drill motor struggling and the drill bit never felt hot to the touch. Detailed directions would have been helpful.

It also came in a variety of sizes so there was definitely one that would work with the RO faucet. It wasn't exactly the size the manufacturer called for but it was close enough.

Good set of hole saws for about the price of one hole saw at a home improvement store.
