Arkam: Back to microbacter. Thanks for getting two of my designer clownfish killed. Don’t play yourself this is overpriced too all superior brands are at max half the price. What a joke.

Overlord1944: I bought this to cycle a new 255 litre reef tank. The instructions were very clear and there are a couple of very useful videos on line. I followed the instructions to the letter in terms of dosing and testing and the cycle happened just as should, going through the various stages. Personally I much prefer to use something like this rather than use a live fish which would likely be stressed by the poor water quality during the cycle. One concern I did have was that if you followed the instructions fully it states that the tank would be ready for fish after 9 days. This certainly wasn’t the case and it wasn’t until day 15 the the nitrate levels had fallen to zero making the tank fully cycled. I would suggest not following the 9 day suggestion but relying on the results from ammonia, nitrite and nitrate tests. However I was still happy with a 15 day cycle so would use this again if I ever start a new tank.

Jonathan Cossey: This stuff is absolutely amazing. I use it when I set up a new tank, or even sometimes after a water change just to beef up the beneficial bacteria. You can add fish immediately, no more waiting weeks for a tank to cycle. If you worried about over stocking, and about to add another fish, just add another bottle. My tank has never looked so clean and it totally skipped the "ugly stage" that most tanks go through. I always keep an extra bottle on hand just for incase moments. Once I needed to set up a hospital tank for a sick fish, and I didnt have time to wait for the tank to cycle, i just added this and then was good to go. Everyone who has a tank should keep this on hand at all times. It's amazing.

Delana Phillips:
It helps clean up sludge and can help your skimmer pull excess nutrients and build-up out of a system.
However, it can and will stress out sps or other sensitive corals if you're not careful, even at the "half-strength" dose.
*Can and will help outcompete Cyano.*
That's just the nature of using a potent bacterial additive like this in a closed system, you run the risk of upsetting or hurting livestock. If you made it weak enough to have no risk whatsoever of irritating or harming nutrient-sensitive or bacterial cultivating animals then it wouldn't be potent enough to actually have a meaningful impact.
Don't Blindly Dose.
Keep a Close eye out for stress when you are dosing, stop if your corals react negatively.
