Lynn: I have serious foot pain (look up "Morton's Toe" on youtube - there are some good legit DR videos). I had gotten where the metatarsal pain, the pain in my entire foot, and the burning in my toes was unbearable. Enter my amazing son who did some research (my podiatrist was worthless) and he came up with Morton's Toe, and several solutions. (This was definitely NOT plantar fasciitis). I tried these. AMAZING. After just a day or two, the pain was pretty much all gone. I'm alive!!! Seriously, it does change your life. Some caveats. One, they stick ONCE (you stick them down on the inside of your shoe - NOT on your foot), & it's not going to stay. You need to find the exact spot that works best for you. I actually don't follow the picture, & turn them around so the wide side is just behind the fat lump on my foot - but the narrow side is under the lump (closer to my toes) to provide some extra cushion where I need it. Once you find the best spot, you should probably glue a pair inside each pair of shoes. I've used double sided tape, but that's also one time use. Or, use them inside your socks if you can't glue them (don't want to buy a pair for every pair of...

Amazon Customer: VERY COMFORTABLE, IT PROVIDES A NICE BALANCE OF CUSHIONING AND SUPPORT TO MY HI ARCHED FEET. ON THE OTHER HAND, IT IS NOT EASY TO BE FIXED IN THE DESIRED POSITION, SINCE IT ONLY STICKS TO FLAT AND SLEEK SURPHACE. I TAPED IT TO THE BACK SIDE OF MY STANDARD RUNNING SHOES INSOLE.

Amazon Customer: Doesn't provide much relief. Sticking is very poor. Not recommended.

Donald T: While there is pain relief, these won't stay still in the shoe. They are small & designed to stick to the bottom of your shoe with adhesive, like what you find on tape. I guess a dress shoe that has a non porous interior may work though, but these lasted about an hour before coming loose.

All all of my shoes have a fabric bottom, so naturally these immediately came loose & all the adhesive was gone. I now just place them in the shoe & carefully put my shoe on, but they don't stay in place very well. I will probably just buy a full size Dr. Scholl's. They make "ball of foot" whole shoe pain relief pads, but they don't have the under arch support that this provides.

I actually think they may work for some, but just look at the picture carefully & note the adhesive is temporary (or may work in dress shoes). You may be able to apply 2-sided tape each morning or something similar. If there was a full-size version that had a "bump" in the middle to simulate the effect of this (under arch support), then that would be better. I recommend getting a full size of any Dr. Scholl's over this though.

I give it 3 stars since I think...

StevieTroon: Excellent, the ONLY thing that relieves the pain in the ball of my foot.

tjpavey: Hopeless. Really fiddly with the sticky underneath going on the shoe inside, so difficult to get them in correct position.

A. Oliver: The concept of this product is wonderful and, for a nanosecond, it functions. However, the product is so badly made that it has no utility after a single wearing. The self-adhesive used to stick the pad to the inner sole just doesn't work, so after the first wearing it is impossible to locate the pad appropriately. If the pad is not located properly it doesn't function.

Zaa: I have a little bursitis at the base of my big toe, and have been reluctant to drop a few hundred bucks on custom orthotics. Unfortunately, most products that target the ball of the foot tend to be more for ladies wearing heels; so, this product is a nice change of pace.

The cushioning is pretty ample, and does not crowd your foot in the shoe. I actually wear this on top of a Dr. Scholl's "Work" brand insert, and am very very comfortable. All told, I can walk 3-5 miles without discomfort, and with a natural gait thanks to this product.

A note: all of the complaints about the adhesive are true. Quite simply, there is no adhesive on this product. I recommend a glue-stick to correct the problem.

Mr. C. Garside: Instant relief! These little gems really do ease 'ball-of -foot' pain...and as long as you clean them with warm water and a flannel they will maintain their stickiness and not slip around in your shoes. Be careful, also, to follow the instructions carefully for placing them in the shoe; you may well locate them too far forward, right under the ball of the foot otherwise...this is wrong!.

Jeff: Overall I liked these. I don't know that they are what I will end up going with (I bought a few products like this at the same time to see which one I liked) but I would recommend it with a couple of caveats.

* The adhesive really doesn't work very well. I don't find that the slightest bit surprising. The inside of your shoe is a porous, humid, dirty environment, which is pretty much designed to make adhesives fail. It seems to be more or less par for the course anyways that inserts don't stick all that well. It took all of five minutes with some craft glue to overcome that issue. Even if the adhesive had been stellar, I would still probably have glued them in to keep them from shifting over time. Grab the Elmer's, this isn't an intelligence test any adult should fail. I'd probably take off a star for the adhesive, but so many people are apoplectic over what I see as a minor and foreseeable issue, that I feel the need to offset them a bit.

* These take a while to place correctly. When I first put these in, they actually sort of hurt, but it was completely the fault of my placement. It did take a little time, probably a half hour off actually working...
