Comments

helen colburn: These pads have been helpful with a foot issue but recently they are so sticky, some are unusable! I hope the products quality goes back to the original.

S. Cabral: Finally a cushion that is thick enough to actually provide adequate cushion. I wear size 8 shoe and these pads are a good size/fit. They stay in place. Just wash and reapply. Adhesive gets reactivated.

TAP: My doctor recommended these. Be careful to order the correct thickness. My original order came with 1/8” pads. I agree with reviews about not lasting very long. But I don’t care because the ease my pain. Adhere strong. Like you get them wet to make them sticky again. If your feet sweat, the adhesion won’t work.

Leigh: Okay, I've used these for nearly 2 years now. Tried other metatarsal pads, keep coming back to these.
Pros:
1) Not expensive
2) re-usable many days or weeks or months, with care, i.e. gentle soap/water washing post-use ( & see also cons)
3) They stick on your feet, not the shoe, so you can use different shoes & even go w/o socks until they get "non-sticky" (see cons). Note: I've always thought you might be able to stick them to the shoe instead, but never tried it.
4) Do a very good job to alleviate metatarsal problem, if positioned correctly (see cons)

Cons:
1) They require careful positioning, or they do cause pain &/or don't alleviate metatarsal pain. I looked up on Internet commentaries about positioning of metatarsal pads & that worked for me. Big difference from even 1/4 inch. You have to figure out for yourself w/your own feet size, etc. how to position them correctly.

2) For best consistency & lasting longer, you need to wear socks. You CAN wear them w/o socks, but they don't last long if you do... the stickiness 'wears out'. However, if you want to wear sandals & cannot tolerate walking w/o...

AF - Colorado: I deducted one star as although the product is very good, the manufacturer's lack of directions for its customers is ridiculous. The box shows the pad placed on the ball of the foot. This is not how my podiatrist recommended this type of product be used, and may actually make the problem worse! Does Jill's not know how their own product should be used? Anyway, shame on them for not providing better customer service and recognizing that placement is probably the most important aspect of their product. Anyway, as a regular hiker, I started having severe Metatarsalgia issues with my left foot. I visited the podiatrist and metatarsal pads were recommended. I tried several types from Amazon and found Jill's to help the most and be most convenient (at least with my issue), with two important caveats (which took me a visit to the podiatrist, and additional trial & error experiments to get right): 1) PLACEMENT: to be most effective, the pad has to be placed just BELOW the ball of the foot (kind of filling in the arch area). You can go on YouTube and find videos by podiatrists that show the proper placement. The ball of the foot will still be exposed, but...
