JandC: I'm editing my review as I was able to figure out more on why the replacement didn't work. Edit below original post.

I got this for my DeWalt D55168 Type 7 compressor that has a blown regulator disk. The replacement's quality seems fine, but the disk (the one part I really needed) is too big to operate in the regulator. Instead of regulating the pressure the disk cannot move on the springs and therefore only releases full pressure all the time. To check that I wasn't crazy I did a temporary repair on my old broken disk and reinstalled it and it operated normally for about a minute before my repair failed under the pressure. Therefore it is not that I installed it incorrectly, the old disk would still work if it weren't broken. The new disk is just not built to spec.

After further diagnosis I found that while it is true that the disk has trouble moving in the regulator knob, this is not the reason for the pressure never changing. My disk had a plugged release hole in the center, looked like it was not completely drilled out. Once I cleared that hole so the pressure could flow to the other side of the disk the regulator functions properly. I will not be...

S. Dias: It’s a shame that you’re forced to replace the whole regulator inner workings when the only piece that’s gone bad is the black plastic piece in the kit. And that’s the case 90% of the time. That piece couldn’t cost more than $1 to make and shouldn’t be sold for more than $3 if things were fair. But since you have to buy the whole kit you may as well replace all the parts. You already paid for them. The instructions are basically a picture with the order in which the parts are to be assembled. Follow that and it’s a pretty simple repair. You’ll also need a T-10 torx screwdriver to remove the screw that secures the regulator cover in place.

Ron Killian: Got this today and took like 10 minutes to put it together. Was easy peasy. Didn't need all the parts but put them in anyways, might as well have new as much as possible.

Shipping was quick, like 2 days. Package well.

Wanted to confirm like others have said it fit my Porter Cable C2002 Type 3 perfectly.

Picked up the compressor from a friend who scraps, it was leaking air because the center of that darn plastic piece in the regulator was broke.

So now I have a working pancake compressor that holds air and the regulator works. Don't have to worry about blow out my tools.

On a side note I tired the "hack" found on the tubes and didn't work all that well for me, couldn't regulate the air ect. Worth $20 to fix it right.

Tim GTim G: While the parts look ok, they don't fit my Delta D55155 compressor. Apparently, Delta used at least 2 different regulators on this compressor.
Instead of just an unhelpful "they don't fit", I've attached pics of my compressor name plate w/serial #'s etc as well as a pic of the packaged repair kit listed here on Amazon and what my actual compressor regulator parts look like. I'd suggest that you take your regulator apart and check the internals before ordering. It is easy. Unscrew the pressure regulation knob out as far as it goes, then get a big wrench on the plastic hex base of the regulator knob and unscrew it from the compressor panel. Just watch and remember how the pieces come out. I was able to clean my internals up and lube them and it leaks less often now, although I am still looking for the correct repair kit. good luck!
