A great value for this AVR. Sounds great and in general I am happy. And the Seller is great and responsive, no complaints there at all!!… But just like every component these days, you really need to put in a lot of energy to operate and learn all the features, and some are completely not intuitive (like why can't I adjust the Center Speaker Spread to On or Off no matter what source I am using. Even when watching TV, I cannot access the feature unless I go to a Music Channel like the still music version channel of MTV. So if I turned it On while listening to music to spread out the stereo signal more evenly among the front speakers, I have to remember to turn it off before I return to watch a movie. Otherwise, while watching the movie, if I want to adjust it, I have to go back out of the movie source, go back to the music channel, turn off the feature, then return to the movie source. But you have to first go almost insane before you figure that out, thinking that you just lost track of where that feature was and spending 10 minutes going in circles trying to find it again! This is just...

D. Smith: Honestly this receiver is a little over featured for our circumstances, but it works great. The basic functionality (driving 5.1 speakers for a home theater is outstanding). It comes with a microphone and cardboard stand to help configure the speaker levels for the each of the speakers, which is pretty easy to use and delivered great results.
The receiver has 8 HDMI inputs which is more than enough for me, along with 2 HDMI outputs which I do use. The HDMI ports are labelled with devices (e.g. Cable/Sat, DVD, etc) which is a little inconvenient given that I'm not hooking up an HDMI CD player (is that even a thing?). You can rename them in the receiver, but the remote buttons of the remote have these inputs printed on the buttons, so you have to remember which device is plugged in where. Also, in at least one case (the HDMI input labelled CD) the output didn't work until I went into settings and mapped it to HDMI 8.
There are also mobile apps for controlling the receiver from your phone, but you have to install two different apps (HEOS and Denon Remote 2016) if you want to use Alexa. The alexa control is cool (you can say "Set volume to 40 on Denon)), but a hassle to...

Philip J Campbell: This is an excellent receiver. I've had several Denon receivers over the years, and it was finally time to upgrade to one with 4K capability. This one meets my discerning needs very well. I have a 5.1 surround sound system, plus I run my TV, FireTV, BluRay player, and game systems thru the receiver. This means the 8 HDMI inputs handle all my gear easily. 4K passthru video quality is flawless. Sounds quality is EXCELLENT and the included setup microphone is a very nice feature. Overall setup was extremely simple. I have experience with these things, but even if you're a newbie, the onscreen setup makes everything very clear. I haven't added ceiling speakers yet for the Dolby Atmos, but I plan to ado that and expect no issues. I'm also so happy to now have an HDMI on the front of the unit for any ad-hoc hookups that I might do. I do this occasionally and it was always a pain in the past having to go to the back of the unit. Also love the Apple Airplay, I can quickly and easily jam out (loudly) to any of the extensive music collection I have on my phone.
There are only a few minor drawbacks. I had go into the settings to get my subwoofer working properly, but I only had to do that...
