wesley washburne: My stereo system is set up in a 14x14 foot bedroom. My HP laptop is my music source. I run it through the Pyle PTA4 mini-amp, rated at 2x120 watts @ 4 ohms, into two Yamaha NS-333's, rated at 60 Hz to 35 kHz @ 6 ohms for L+R. I placed the Klipsch R-100 subwoofer at about front center and plugged it into the Pyle's L+R tape outs. I tuned the Klipsch crossover to slightly below 80 Hz and volume about a third of the way which gives everything a warm deep bottom. Any higher on the crossover was overkill. The laptop's master volume along with the Pyle's volume, bass and treble is all I need for tonal adjustment. Even though the laptop contains a 10-band EQ I don't really need it.

Tyler Secrest: I was listening to music with my ceiling speakers as I often do when suddenly I heard a popping sound. I went over to the PYLE and it was smoking and smelled of burning plastic/electronics. Bought this only 9 months ago. Don't know why it surged and broke like it did.

Ruben Hernandez: Yo lo uso para una Iglesia porque ahora con la Pandemia empezamos a Transmitir en Línea y necesitaba algo que sacara el sonido para la Computadora Limpio y nítido y este amplificador me sirvió muy bien porque hace la función para lo que lo compré.
Ahora solo le conecto una mezcladora y cualquiera que no sabe de aparatos, piensa que tengo un sonido profesional

My house has ceiling speakers in every room for background music. For several years it has been running on a low-end home theater system rated at 30 watts per channel @ 4-ohms; Music provided by its over-the-air FM stereo function. It works well but it's time to upgrade to a more advanced solution that has internet capabilities. For example, internet radio access and media playback from my NAS drive.

So I DiY assembled a media player using a Raspberry Pi micro computer, Volumio software, and a HiFi I2S DAC board (total cost about $90). This needs a power amp and the specs for the Pyle PTA4 looked like a good choice.

Start of Product Review:
To my surprise I found a Pyle PTAU45 unit inside the factory sealed PTA4 box. For some mysterious reason I received the upgraded model with USB media port (which I don't need). Since all the important specifications are the same, I decided to keep it. Here's what I found inside the box:

The metal cased amplifier is small and attractive, but surprisingly heavy. Its beefy weight is because the amplifier has an old-school linear power supply...
