Erin Boisvert: I purchased a large collar for my 6 month old Belgian Malinois. ( I removed 1 link for now,. I may remove 1 more). Previously walking on a leash could be a very stressful time for us as she pulled a lot! I really wanted to avoid a corrective collar but I also really wanted to enjoy our walks together. As soon as I put the collar on her before we even left the house her demeanor changed! It was like she knew things were going to be different. Our 1st walk was a dream! It was what you want your walk to be like. A wonderful relaxed for both of us. 😀 However after a few days use one of the links just undid on our walk! We were on the side of a busy road fortunately my dog stopped when I shouted stop and avoided traffic. I am wondering if I bent the link too much while putting it in and didn't make sure that the prongs were properly spread again. Anyway just be cautious of that. Also I have learned that in the future if I was to buy another prong collar I would like one with a quick release because getting it over her head is concerning that I will poke her eyes or ears!

brent: I almost had a panic attack trying to get it off my dog. It slid on fine but there’s no way to undo it, so when the walk was over it wouldn’t come back over her head.
She’s a golden doodle and pulls very hard and wants to meet everyone which is why I bought the collar initially. I will be returning it however.
I also read on other reviews that it breaks easily.
I will not put this back on my dog because I’m afraid I hurt her by trying to get it off.

SD: Advertised as adjustable, but this contraption had me fighting for my life to disconnect a couple links to make it the right size for my dog. If you're like me and aren't built like a heavy-weight power lifter with the grip strength of a crackhead then be sure this is the right size for your dog, because you, like me, will break a sweat trying to unhook a couple rungs. Safe to say it's built strong enough to hold back my mother-in-law from the fridge, so you needn't worry about whether your beloved pooch will break it. Giving four stars was a stretch, but adjusting this justified me skipping arm day at the gym, which was a plus.

Jereleene Howard: The collar is very nice and works very well. I would have liked to see the prongs a little more secure.

Amazon Customer: Works as it should. We have a Dalmatian whose 60lbs and pulls a LOT so this made walks WAY better. Only complaint and I can't confirm if it was the product or us is that we've had it for a month or so and the clip came undone and he got loose and ran away on a walk. The second time (yes I said second time) the actual collar came apart and broke off when he was pulling from another dog and got loose. So I'm not sure if we are just too rough with it or what but we now use it with his regular collar and we had to buy carabiners to make sure that his regular collar and prong collar are clipped together so that if the collar breaks apart again our dog won't get loose and get hit by a car. So yeah, unsure if it's us or we just got a faulty one but it's a 5 stars for the pulling and 2 stars if it's faulty and is coming apart

Steve_Work: Don't waste your time with any other style of collar. I have a 12 LB Shih tzu that was horrible to walk and would run at cars constantly. My wife refused to take her on walks. We are worried about her getting loose and running at cars. We tried regular collar, choke chain, 3 different styles of harnesses. I even tried a shock collar... which I think might have been effective eventually but the dog was such a dumb puppy that the part of her brain that didn't like the shock sensation did not talk to the other dumb part of her brain that wanted to run at cars. The pulling could not be addressed with the shock collar because it was simply constant. We then bought this prong collar and within 10 steps the doc realized if she pulls hard it hurts... if she doesn't pull hard it doesn't hurt. I love the dog and the way I am showing that is by doing whatever I can to train her to stop running at cars.... this collar is the ticket.

Amir Mohebbi: Our 7 month old pibble mix had been tugging and pulling on walks or he was being stubborn and not wanting to walk unless bribed with treats. We had a real rough time with other humans and dogs where he wanted to run up to them or after them. The birds and squirrels became a constant struggle. Our trainer suggested this time of prong collar but because our pup is shorter than most pibbles and weighs 30-40 lbs she recommend the 2.3 mm prong thickness. After searching, there were not many options of this kind of collar at this size. The other ones were much much more expensive than I was willing to spend despite needing it for training.

I originally bought one that fit just perfect around his neck. The puppy pulled a few times and the first time let out a squeal which was hard to stomach. However, he has not pulled since. Walking became much much easier! We don’t have to worry about other dogs or people. If I tug a little on the leash he will back off of wanting to chase the squirrels. Now, this collar was meant for dogs much smaller than our pibble mix who ultimately out grew the collar. I looked for extensions but found that this collar was such a great value that buying a...

Tough Nut: UPDATED: (4 stars to 1 star) We have two dogs, a pit mix and a wiener mix. This collar is amazing for our pit, she doesn't hate it at all and yet it's supper effective with a jerk and a "no". In 5 minutes our pit went from a crazy puller (she literally has pulled my 11 year old son and wife off of their feet) to a completely obedient, heeling super dog.

Our 30lb wiener mix was traumatized by the collar and wouldn't walk on the leash for a week after the first correction (I guess I pulled too hard). During the week of fear as it has been come to be known, she would lay down, rolls over and refuse to walk, even with a flat collar. We are still working with her to get her to feel safe again on a leash.

If I could go back I time, I would have warned past me to be super gental with our smaller dog, barely pulling at all with the correction.

Being so small, we don't really notice her pulling, but it's still a bad habit and we plan on buying the plastic "pinch" collar for her in the future. Reviews say it's less effective than collars like this one but maybe that's what she needs, something less effective.

On a side note, I've worn this collar myself and had...

Sharon Wheeler: Though the collar looks formidable, it does a great job holding back my 85 pound and growing Silver Lab. He is 9 months and a ball of energy. We seldom put a leash on him because we live on 30 acres so he stays around and was taught that from 8 months old. When I want to bring him somewhere or if we go on a long walk, I need that control. This collar does not hurt my dog or choke him but it gives me the control I need. He listens and sits by my side when I ask him to. It stops him from jumping on people.,

NikkiG: I have an almost 8 month old pitbull. She weighs about 70 lbs. (give or take a few), and she is a puller. I am 5' 4" and about 200 lbs, and even with using my body weight against her, she would still manage to pull me wherever we went. I just got home from EASILY walking my furbaby for 10 blocks and she did great with the prong collar. The difference was instant! She tried to pull a few times, but mostly she walked right in front of or beside me and even left slack on the leash. I have never been able to walk her that far because of damage done to my shoulder a few years back. I can finally walk my dog, without pain! It's incredible! I did have to removed a few links, but with her still being a puppy, those links can be added right back on as she gets bigger. Now, I can walk my dog on a regular basis, and probably lose more weight in the process! Win/win! I love this prong collar and will most likely order another for my husband's dog!

UPDATE: We did order a 2nd collar for my husband's dog, which is one of my dog's litter mates. She weighs a little bit more, but is pretty close to the same size as mine. This afternoon, my son and I were finally able to actually enjoy...
