Sylvia Hoang: Borrowed from library and liked so much bought my own copy. Recipes are simplified but flavour of the dish remains authentic.

KZan: In 2004, my husband and I were doing a semester in Hong Kong. I was having a little trouble adapting my cooking style to our rental's single hot plate and the available market items, so picked up your Quick & Easy Thai cookbook. Since then, I've made almost every recipe in the book, and have gifted it to others probably 10 times. Tonight at dinner, my 15 year-old daughter was listing her favorite foods that I make while we were eating meatball soup (a mix of page 33 and 29), and she said Beef & Broccoli (page 68), meatball soup, and the Thai Salmon (pg 86). Oh, and Crying Tiger Steak (pg 71)! My latest favorites are the tangy salmon soup and the muslim noodles, and I was recently delighted to find that the choo-chee snapper recipe is the same as my favorite Thai restaurant's dish, which I always consider an absolute treat.
I just love this book. It is my favorite cookbook of all time, and I read cookbooks for fun. Seventeen years, and I still open it weekly. Now I just need for my husband to move out so I can make the dishes with peanuts. (He's allergic.) ;)

Pamela Graydon: I bought this book after trying one of the recipes at a friend's house. Wow! Yummy! So I ordered the book from Amazon. The recipes are easy, and incredibly tasty. My only objection is that there is no nutritional information given. When I entered the recipe information into my nutritional app and ran the nutritional data, I got all sorts of warnings about the sodium contents, and the calorie counts were very high. Fish sauce and soya sauce seem to be a staple in every recipe, and both are insanely high in sodium. So I will use the recipes in this book as a "splurge" when I really want something amazingly tasty, but I will not be cooking these meals on a daily basis.

Carol: Utterly fantastic cookbook. I have all of Nancy McDermott's "quick and easy" cookbooks. The Thai is my favourite. Some have commented on the others that the recipes are not as flavourful as the Thai version. My opinion is that it is not the fault of the cookbooks - Thai food is simply often more flavourful than Vietnamese, Chinese, etc...

ktsue: I felt the need to write a review of this book based on some of the other reviews, which I read when debating whether to purchase this book and which nearly led me to purchase something else. After receiving and using this cookbook, I really feel that some of the negative reviews were unfair.
For clarification, let's start off with what this book isn't - a comprehensive, 100% authentic review of Thai.cuisine. This is not the Thai version of "Mastering the Art of French Cooking". If you a) are cooking for your Thai grandmother or b) want to exactly re-create the meal you enjoyed at that noodle shop in Bangkok and are willing and able to go to all the related trouble, this book is not for you. And that's totally okay.
That said, if you're considering a book titled "Quick and easy Thai", you are probably someone who is willing to trade at least some measure of authenticity for ease of preparation. That is exactly what this book aims to do. The author readily admits when and where she alters the original recipes to save time or because a traditional ingredient is very difficult to find in the US. For those of you who have grown up in Western countries and have only enjoyed Thai...

Julia G-M: My husband and I spent 10 days in Thailand in 2007 and, like most people who will be reading this review, LOVE Thai food. We have strong opinions about the best, next-best, and moderately good Thai restaurants in town. And I've tried to cook Thai in the past without any notable success. I've made six recipes out of this book, over about two months, and they are terrific. They ARE relatively quick and easy -- that's such an individual yardstick, though. I estimate they take about 15-25 minutes of paying-attention time, but no difficult procedures. Most importantly, they taste recognizably Thai, very similar to our favorite Thai restaurant. I'm pretty sure this is due to my having taken the time to buy the right ingredients at an Asian market. The nice thing is, the "exotic" ingredients required by this book can be kept at home for some time, and are used by MANY of the recipes throughout, so once you're stocked you can just keep cooking with supermarket ingredients. Lime leaves (sold frozen at my Asian market, and seem to keep great in the freezer at home), palm sugar, fish sauce, and packaged curry pastes are the heart of the matter. Basil and mint from garden, or can be bought at...

L. A. Vitale: I love to eat Thai food. I am a good cook, but not a great one by any means, so wanted to have a Thai Cookbook that offered quick, easy & delicious recipes to follow for my busy lifestyle. This one definitely fits the bill!
I have yet to try all the recipes in this book, but the few I have tried have been delicious and have been thoroughly enjoyed. Especially the curry dishes, which are fabulous!
I like the layout of this book and the one or two paragraph introduction written by the author before each recipe. The "Useful Utensils For Cooking Thai Food" section at the end of the book is also good!

D.Jane: I had this book years ago & lost it in a flood. I was pleased to see it still being sold by this seller, and snapped it up again. No complicated recipes or ingredients, but delicious recipes you'll want to make any day of the week. Came within expected time and was in mint condition.
