C Dub: This is a fantastic cookbook. I'm cooking my way through the book and I've only made 3 dishes and they have all been delicious. I love her twist on these Thai dishes. As for the ding dong that wrote a review complaining about having to go all over the place to buy ingredients that she didn't have, buy a Paula Deen cookbook! If you only want to cook with whatever is in your pantry buy a plain old southern or basic American recipe cookbook. Don't buy a book with foreign recipes. For the record, the ingredients are readily available, maybe not if you live in a small community but i live in a small town of 70k and i was able to find most things at Walmart. The only thing i had to order off of Amazon was the massaman curry and it was well worth it! I am making all the beef dishes since my spouse is an avid hunter and we have a lot of elk in our freezer. I am obviously substituting the beef for elk. I just made the beef broccoli with elk chuck roast because it's all i had and that is the tastiest beef broccoli i have ever had! Looking forward to making the rest of the dishes. If you like to experience different foods and cultures, do not pass up this book. Buy it!

Paula Hedgepeth: My friend and I started our own little cookbook club about a year ago in which we pick a book for the month and each of us makes at least 15 recipes from the book. Having cooked through both of Chrissy Teigen's cookbooks, we wanted to give her mom's a try, too. Before I bought the book, I checked here for reviews and found many glowing reviews that seemed to be based on "looking" at the book, not cooking through the book. I bought the book anyway, determined to post a review after having actually used the book.
If you're looking for a Thai cookbook to recreate favorites from your local Thai restaurant, you might be disappointed. In my opinion, this is a little more of a "Thai fusion" cookbook. If you're like me, you'll spend time gathering ingredients you've never heard of from an international grocery store, but that's part of the fun!
Here's what I made:
Thai Steak Salad
Sweet and Sour Stir-Fry
Crispy Wings
Easy Wok-Fried Greens
Larb Burgers (My favorite from the book...one of the best burgers I've ever had!)
Spicy Melon Basil Salad
Nam Prik Moo Sloppy Joes
Pad Korat
Pad Thai Brussels Sprouts
Pineapple Soft Serve with Spicy Candied...

ET: The recipes are delicious and fairly easy to follow. Most of them use the same base ingredients so once you’ve bought those, you can make many different recipes. The photography is nice and I enjoyed Pepper’s stories with each recipe. We’ve made more recipes from this book than either of the Cravings books (which I also like!). Highly recommend for a basic intro to cooking Thai food.

B. J. Willing: This is an American cookery book, pure and simple. Therefore, the recipes, although Thai, in that they are written by a Thai woman, Pepper Teigan, reflect everything American including measurements in ounces (15 gm) and cups (240 ml) and include scallions (spring onions, or salad onions) and cilantro (coriander). In the main the recipes are therefore hybrid American Thai food.
Peppr Teigan writes with typical American enthusiasm and her cooking instructions are very straight forward. However, they are quite different from Thai food experienced in the UK and Europe. It is a good cookery book to have, but it is very different.

C.A. DOUGHERTY: This is a well written book. If you have any of Chrissy's books (I have both not anticipating liking, and the only non chef celeb book I own). Love them both, surprising!
Each recipe start with a short story that's fun gives you a bit of a background of the recipe. The ingredients are something you should be able to find in a grocery store, unless you are in a small town.
Cooking seems straight forward, not many take hours, but doable on a week day or week night. And a fun switch up if you like Asian cooking. Lots of good stuff to check out.
Not everything is Thai, but has Thai influences. I have tried Pepper's items in Chrissy's cookbook and they all have worked well. I believe they use the same editor, but is the person that brings their ideas and recipes to home cooks with good results!

paperandi: Saw this at Target, but it’s cheaper here. I had a chance to glanced at the book, and it has many things that I would like to try to make.. I really don’t care for Chrissy Teigan bizarre commentaries (nor am I a fan), and I don’t know much about her mom, Pepper. But I do love her products and her cookbook, and her mom’s cookbook looks legit as well. I didn’t see anything irrelevant to cooking in any of the cookbooks including hers or her mom, which is why I am ok with their cookbooks.
That being said, Pepper’s book has a picture for every recipe. That’s an A+ in my book. As for recipes- idk. I will update when I try them sometime soon...

amy: Love the Tiegen recipe books! This one is amazing! Only wish they mentioned places to buy hard to find ingredients not found at your local grocery store;)
