Teealc: We can learn alot from them. I reccommend visiting Kidron Ohio - there is a great Hardware store there, Lehman's, all mechanical items. They make great tasting food! Worth a visit and an addition to your culinary library.

Nurseangel: First of all, the book was not new, even though I bought it as new. I know we are not to rate the condition of a product, so here are my thoughts on the book. The recipes don't strike me as anything particularly Amish. Now, I have never been Amish, or interacted with Amish (unless you count seeing them at selling events and rest areas) but somehow the recipes seem like they could have come from the Methodist church cookbook down the road. There is nothing wrong with church cookbooks, they are among my favorites, but I expected something different from this one. So many canned foods used to create meals...do the Amish really cook this way? I wish I hadn't wasted my money on this one.

I have already made the chicken salad, two of the bread recipes and one salad recipe and everyone of them I will be making again. I have the book marked with tons that I have plans to make in the future as well. Good price, great gift idea, highly recommend.

Debbie: I borrowed this cookbook from a friend and had to have one for my own cookbook collection! I like that the recipes are simple and easy to make. The instructions are easy to understand and thorough. I especially love the chapter on breads, I made the banana bread and it's delicious. The hamburger buns turned out well too. I also like that there are recipes in this book that I've never seen anywhere else; like homemade ketchup for example. A chapter on jams and jellies and canning recipes make this book a treasure.
