Laure: Je capote tellement ce produit est utile simple et efficace je le recommande. Si vous suivez parfaitement les instructions le yaourt est réussi à coup sûr je suis tellement contente ! Ça fait 1 litre de yaourt soit 10 petits pots.
Si je peux recommander au vendeur den fabriquer un plus plus grand comme 2 litres ca serait encore mieux. Merci!

Alice: Lactose free plain yogurt is hard to find and expensive. My decades old yogurt tray with 4 glass containers got lost in a move and I've downsized to a small unit so lack a full kitchen. I've been frustrated trying to find lactose free yogurt, especially this year when I've been doing grocery pickup due to covid-19 and my age.

I'm a stickler for following directions but lack equipment so I opted for the microwave method in a large glass mixing bowl and used my meat thermometer to check temperature. It took more than 9 one-minute-heat-stir-check-temperature cycles in the microwave to get it up to 185 degrees F. So ANY other heating method may be easier. (I saw other reviews on how to heat the milk in a saucepan, or how to skip heating the milk altogether and may try those next batch since I buy pasteurized milk,)

The recipe calls for 5 cups of milk and a half cup of yogurt for a starter. Five cups of milk alone overflow the container. The container is a one liter container so 4 cups of milk and a half cup of yogurt fill it to the very top. Be sure not to heat 5 cups.

Turned out fine. I had a lovely bowl of warm yogurt for breakfast. The rest I put in my rice...

Mona, Chatham: Good little machine! It makes about 1.5 litres yogurt each time. The instructions are very clear, and it included several recipes. I am making more yogurt tomorrow. I also bought a yogurt cheese maker, so will make two batches of creamy cheese from one batch of yogurt from the Dash. I'm very happy to make my own fresh yogurt and cream cheese with no artificial ingredients. Just milk and yogurt starter is all you need.

Alison Juta: A pity that Dash have removed the timer from the machine. The original machine that we bought had a timer built into the switch.

Bryan C.: I am perfectly content with my Dash go yogurt maker and honestly can't think of anyway I'd have it improved. Some may wish for a timer and/or on/off switch but I think they're superflorous and would only increase the price. This affordable unit works extremely well for me just as it is and produces consistently excellent results. I do tend to follow directions, and that's wise in the case of making yogurt--but it's not rocket science. If you do your part, this maker will take care of the rest. Your part entails having and using a decent thermometer, following basic sanitary guidelines, purchasing appropriate "raw" products and paying attention. The rest is a walk in the park.
And it's not as though doing your part is difficult. I buy off-the-shelf 900-ml. bags of 3 % milk from my supermercado when I can't get refrigerated milk, and it works fine. I don't know how they manage the shelf life of this product, and probably don't want to. I also buy powdered milk and off-the-shelf plain yogurt, making sure the yogurt contains live cultures. You can't make yeast bread without viable yeast and you can't make yogurt without live cultures. I've never tried the powdered starters, but may...

Scott L: Problem: Heats from the bottom so the bottom part of the container gets very hot. It has no thermostat so temp can easily soar to 120 degrees with the bottom getting even hotter! Not an ideal temperature for making yogurt!
Here is how I fixed all that.

Get a timer at lowes.

Costs $3.97. Set it so that the yogurt maker turns off and on every half hour. This will keep your temp around 105 degrees. If it runs too hot or too cold just adjust how long it stays on. Add a cup or two of warm water to the yogurt maker before putting in the plastic canister. What this does is it will keep the heat evenly distributed.
When making yogurt don't use their recipe. It calls for too much milk (wont fit in the canister) and too much yogurt starter.
Try this:
1 quart whole milk placed in glass container
Microwave to 180 degrees. Remove any skin on the top.
Place milk container in ice water bath and cool to 105 degrees.
Mix with 2 tablespoonfuls of plain yogurt, and stir. (You don't need a lot of starter...bacteria reproduces itself very well)!!
Place milk in canister and let process for 12 hours.
