NevNev: I researched a lot before I bought this washing machine. Honestly I was very scared because I hear a lot about bought reviews. That’s why I am writing this review because it is a real purchase and I absolutely love it. I wish I bought this 10 years ago. I have been washing my dishes by hand for so long. I use it one full load for my son and I everyday and it fixed my washing machine problem. It is quite big actually; bigger than I expected. It saves lots of my time; I cook my meals at home I barely eat out or take out. I hope this review helps someone who loves to cook at home but doesn’t want to wash the dishes by hand.

ilovefilms: Works like a charm.

LoreCLoreC: This is the first dishwasher I’ve ever owned, so I have nothing to compare it to. Because of the soft water, far less soap is required, so happy about that. Shame about the dinner plates (mine are too large), but I knew that going in, based on other reviews, and as they suggest, there’s a workaround. It just means you give up more space. I’m still figuring out the best way to load it; it’s a bit like a game of Tetris. Quite frankly, it’s gotten the dishes off of my countertop, so that in itself is a bonus 😄 Others have commented on the length of the hoses. I’d rather the hoses be too long, than not long enough. A couple of magnetized hooks took care of that problem (see image). I like that there are a variety of cycles, especially the economy cycle. Worth mentioning is the Rinse Aid Dispenser is missing the fill level indicator (image provided). Also, I’m not sure if it’s intentional or not, but the soap dispenser lid hits the dish rack. Therefore when you open the dishwasher door, the dispenser lid slaps the door and sprays water. I open the door very gently now! The dishwasher does have some limitation’s as other reviewers have mentioned, but overall I’m...

C. Kleinert: Live this dishwasher and so happy I invested in one, as I really hate doing the dishes by hand. The only negative point, it wills up fast, because I can’t use all the slots, they are so tight that it wouldn’t clean properly. Also my big plantes only fit at a tilted angle, and they are not larger than average big plates.. so be aware of that.

KTH100: I received the machine perfectly packaged and in pristine condition. Once the packing straps which wrap around the box are removed, the sides of the box/ packing fall away and the box can be lifted off the unit, rather than having to lift the unit out of the box. A small thing but kind of a nice packing feature.

This machine is very easy to use, extremely quiet, and cleans dishes perfectly. It can hold a few pots or pans if placed strategically. The distance between my counter and cupboards is 18”, and the unit fits fine on the counter (although I choose to use a cart to keep counter space clear.)

The two top shelves in the unit (which are apparently designed for teeny tiny teacups) are fortunately removable (just clip on and off), which allows more room for mugs etc underneath.

If you have a standard kitchen faucet, the supplied adaptor and quick connect coupler will work fine. Just remove the aerator in your faucet, screw in the adaptor, then it’s a quick click to attach and remove the quick connect coupler.

I use cascade gel dish detergent, and find that only a tablespoon of it is necessary but more can be used if your dishes are especially...

Lily: In the past, I had always heard about how dishwashers were unsanitary/wasteful/expensive/etc, and I was adamant that I never needed one. For years, I did all my dishes by hand - sure, it took hours to do, every week, but at least I *knew* it was clean, right? Fast forward to when life made me unable to do it by hand for a month, and my wife finally convinced me to get a dishwasher. (Specifically, this one, since we don't have a place to hook up a full-sized one.)

Now, if it were possible to legally adopt a dishwasher, I would.

This thing isn't without its flaws - it's small, so I need to run it once every day or two in order to keep up, and it's not the most powerful thing, so I still rinse off everything before putting it in...but beyond that, little Danby has saved me a truly inordinate amount of time. I know some people have complained about it breaking down easily, but at least for me, it arrived undamaged and has been working for nearly a year, running every day, without a single problem. The dishes are just as clean, too. (They might even be cleaner, given the water's way hotter than I could stand handwashing with.)

I've gone from cautiously giving it...

kai simski: OK, here is the deal: I had one of the previous models wash my dishes for 16 (SIXTEEN!!!!) years, so my expectations are very high for the new model. The old model developed a leak on the window, was slightly bigger and had more volume inside. It also had thick rubber feet that ensured a balance stance and also counter vibrations. Turns out the new model is a lot more quiet and is standing with a flat surface on the blank counter top, which I don't like and added some feet (self adhesive cork feet from dollar store).

After the first wash, the dishes looked like they have with the old washer. Loading however was much different. Turns out the flaps on top designed for small cups or glazes are completely useless because they are even too small to place a small cerial bowl on top. The holders for the plates and bowls are too small or too small spaced, haven't figured out which yet. It does comfortably fit all the plates, dinner, soup and any style I have. Basket for utensils got a useless handle and flaps that I removed after the second wash already.

That being said, the indoor spaceing compared to the previous model is unfortunate. Second level flaps on the side are...

Gerald T. Abrahamson: This model is much better than the DDW497 I replaced. The DDW621 is *far* quieter and cleans items in the dishwasher noticeably better.

There is one negative point. The left side has a pair of adjustable/removable shelves. In the DDW497, the comparable shelf was just low enough to allow a second set of cups to be on that shelf (four cups/tall glasses on the lower rack and four 9-oz coffee cups on the upper shelf). The two shelves in the DDW621 are set too high to permit this. They will not allow the same 9-oz cups (Correlle) to be on those shelves because they hit the top of the front opening when you try to roll it into the dishwasher. If you move the racks down, then there is no room for the same-sized cups under those shelves. I checked other coffee cups (8-9 oz capacity, not just Correlle), and they all experienced the same problem. This is a design flaw in the rack, not in the dishwasher. I was able to fit a small (20-oz) casserole onto the top shelf, with its lid on the other top shelf.

I mostly use Correlleware, and I have been using it for some time (30+yrs). The largest plates (12") will NOT fit. All the other stuff will fit with few...
