Bob Wilson: My mother-in-law is in her late 80's, but you wouldn't know it. She runs, rides her road bikes on the local trails, and tracks her investments and banking on line with her state-of-the-art, Ryzen 7, HP laptop, on her home WiFi network. Having the network available, she added a Ring doorbell and perimeter cameras. She likes the Ring products, but has found them to not deal with power outages very well. The doorbell is the biggest problem because it doesn't always reconnect itself to the WiFi network after a power failure. Well gee, you say, how many power failures does your area go through that this is a problem? Let's say this: We live in Sacramento CA, and this city has been built out since the 1960 -1970's, meaning all the power lines, transformers, switching stations, power poles, etc. are over 60-plus years old. In addition, during this time the local utility has lost the power-production of one nuclear-power plant (shut-down, dismantled) and one steam co-production plant (Campbell's Soup had agreed to let the local utility use their by-product steam production to power an on-site power production plant, and Campbell's has been closed 10 years)....

Michael P.: This is the the first couple weeks since I've bought my battery backup. So far I've heard it activate once when there was a short power dip. I saw a breakdown of a competitors backup, so I decided to go with CyberPower this time. So far I'm really happy with it.

Debbie Lee Wesselmann:
When a different brand UPS system died, I immediately went into research mode to find a replacement, and I settled on this. Now both my husband and I have one connected to our computers and hard drives to ensure that they keep running in the event of a power outage. It's not enough to have these delicate electronics on a surge protector -- although that's critical -- but this CyberPower UPS gives us time to save our work before the computers shut down. Even though we do have a whole house generator, thirty-seconds of unsaved work can be an eternity. When we did NOT have that generator, we could lose even more. This is the kind of device that you don't know how much you need until you have one. You get about 15 minutes of back-up battery life, depending on what is drawing power at the same of outage, and it goes on immediately upon sensing a loss of current.
I settled on this one because of price and reviews. It has six outlets on each side, although only one side has battery back-up, so make sure you choose carefully what you do and don't plug into that side. The other outlets have surge protection only. I've plugged my computer and hard-drive...

Lauren Glenn: Estimated time on my Mac Mini M2 was so good that it was about 3 hours... but obviously, I'll need a monitor while I'm working from home, I added the monitor and the thunderbolt hub I have... all combined, it went to 2 hours for all that. That's honestly not bad for what I paid for it. Far more efficient on power than my PC would be so this worked out well.
Main reason I got it was that I had a couple of incidents with PECO here in Bristol, PA where they sometimes shut off power for a minute or two.... no one is sure why but I think they have some remote shut off and have bugs in it..... they've seriously shut our electricity off for 10 minutes and then it comes back on..... so to counter this, I hooked this up and will at least have it safer from quick power outages. I have a larger model from them that's hooked up to my FIOS ONT and router (and NAS too).... when power went out for 2 hours, I still had internet in my place the whole time. It was pretty cool.
So now I have one in my desk that's inside the cubby hole in the desk (meant to house a bigger Windows PC tower).... and it's working great.
