D. Ald: This is a very nice product.......it heats up nice and fast, and works well. I like the look, and the finish. My only gripe is that the on/off knob and the temperature knob get really hot......you will want to use a napkin or tissue to protect your fingers when adjusting the temperature or turning it off.

Emax: It works okay but when I'm looking for is one that has a digital on it that I can use it on stainless steel pan other than that it works fine for the numbers but yet to really get used to it using numbers I'm still looking for a digital one good luck bye for now.

Jo-Anne: My kitchen is under renovation and I haven't had a working stove for a month. I bought this to use in my laundry room/temporary kitchen. It's perfect for the job - it's very stable on the counter and the controls are very clear with a separate on/off and temperature knob; it gets extremely hot for stir frying/or a steak etc if desired or boiling water for pasta; and on a low setting it's suitable for soups or a slow-cooking stew. I placed it on a large baking sheet covered in tin foil to help make any splattering easier to clean up.

Alison Hall: So, in the first probably few weeks you will most likely smell a smell of the cast iron settling in and getting rid of that industrial smell, I personally ran a cord outside and let it run for many hours to avoid the smell, run it outside on a nice day.

Reasons I love this grill:
It can boil water, unlike some electric grills which take way longer to get things to the boiling point, if I set this grill up and just be patient about 10 minutes longer than gas would take, so set it and forget it while I prep other things I can count on this hot plate to boil water and save me the gas from the butane grill that I use for other things. I honestly am debating on getting a few more of these to have around! They are great for a cooktop replacement.

Reasons I don't like this grill:
It is harder to control the temperature of this grill due to the fact that is a cast iron plate, it takes a very very long time to get this hot plate to lower temperature due to the cast iron hot plate attached, I would not use this plate on items that require temperatures being lowered and raised for different cooking needs, I would use this as a quick/efficient hot plate that can take on...
