FanofJesus: the photo, on the listing, makes it look like the heating coil reaches out to the edges of the plate. However, in reality, the actual heating diameter is about 6"--just the right size for my small saucepan in which I reheat coffee etc.
I have it sitting on my glass-top range surface, plugged into a power strip that can be turned off at the strip, which is as good as unplugging it, which they recommend, and I do too.
I used clear nail polish over the cukor logo, as I saw it was quickly wearing off. It's not necessary to polish over the temp settings, cuz it's just a matter of turning the knob all the way on for high, and in the middle for med heat.
The good: it still works after several months' using it every day;
it heats 6" pots of things about as quickly as a conventional burner;
the glass surface is easy to clean and keep clean (I use barkeeper's friend cleanser)
the less than good: Its small surface makes using frypans and other larger pans difficult or more time-consuming; I have to fry the eggs one side of the pan at a time, moving the edge of the pan into the middle to get the food cooked, then switching sides.
The knob is easily turned on, so it's...

KCR: This will be a quick review of the good, and an in-depth of the not-good. It does what it says it does. It's a great stovetop cooker, and definitely overkill for my purposes but I am completely satisfied for every use case I have for it. It heats up fast (faster than my actual stove), holds a good temperature, and generally keeps the temperature pretty consistent. Being that it has a glass surface, it is easy to clean, even when I accidentally dragged some polyester across the top that melted to it - a razor blade and some glass cleaner and it's good as new.
The downside is a very specific scenario. I use this explicitly for making coffee, where temperature settings can be very sensitive, and I've found one specific use case that causes problems - where I brew a cup, have turned the stove off, then decide to make a new cup.
If you are using this in a way that you're going to reheat something - that is initially it's on a set temperature, then you turn it off, then you decide to turn it back on, the temperature control goes out of whack. I'm benchmarking mine at somewhere around 99ºC, where it's just starting to simmer. I've also drawn on mine, so I make sure I use...

Walter O.: Yeah! Really puts out the heat. Bought this strictly for one purpose - to make coffee in the Lunchroom at work. Old school, all glass PYREX Flameware Percolator. To accomplish this requires a strictly temperature controlled, precisely timed (timer turns it off automatically), heating device. Turn it on set to a specific time temperature and turns off automatically. Can't stand over the pot watching. Must be unattended operation, fifteen minutes later and a piping hot, perfectly brewed cup a joe ready and waiting.
I set my pot on the burner glass of the Cukor heater, turn it on to Max. Right away the heating element starts to glow and only a few seconds and you can feel the heat emanating from the burner. About a minute and I can see bubbles forming at the base of the percolator stem. Impressive! Wow - this baby really puts out the heat! A little longer and it seems apparent that water will be boiling in only about 5 minutes, (my guesstimate). Wait! What just happened? It shut off? about a half a minute and it turns back on?
I find out out that the temperature is not controlled by the amount of current through the heating element, but by shutting the element on and off for...
