markmyword2: Okay, so, this water filter system is awesome. After years of enduring the annoyances of everything from Brita to Soma pitchers, I finally gave up and needed to upgrade to something more user-friendly. I'm so happy I got this and highly recommend it... even though I about lost it with trying to finish the installation process.

First, the taste: Yes, the water tastes different - it's supposed to taste different! The light mineral taste is a huge part of the appeal to me. It's not too pronounced like Gerolsteiner, but somewhere in the middle between that robust taste and regular filtered water with no mineral flavor.

Installation is actually super easy with the stuff you'd think would be hard. They provide what seems to be very high quality parts for both the under sink and faucet hookup options. What didn't make sense, and seems to have tripped others up, is connecting the water line to the back of the unit. The red thing didn't make any sense and wasn't how it looked in the video. DON'T bother calling customer service, they're useless and will give you the runaround. However, after seeking other help, here's what you need to do if you're a plumbing novice (clueless?)...

FeJ: This filter has been a life-changer. For years, I thought a pitcher filter was enough to purify NYC water. As clean as NYC water may be immediately after treatment, it goes through miles of old, rusting pipes before making it into a glass at home. After two months of heavy use, I noticed the water flow from the filter decrease, so I just replaced the carbon filter easily. It makes sense as NYC tap water contains sediments it picks up along the way. This filter has made drinking enough water enjoyable! Highly recommended!

My only issue was a little trouble with installation to a faucet. You may need to make a trip to the hardware store to ensure you have all necessary pieces. I ended up buying a smaller, lighter faucet valve.

Francisco H: This is a great product for sure. I was surprised at how easy it was to install (hooked it up to the faucet) and this is a product that I don't see that often since I usually see the water filters installed under the sink.

The water is good, maybe even great, but not perfect since obviously there's thousand dollar systems that do a better job. Water comes out a little bubbly and I'm pretty sure it has to do with the last step in the filter process that adds back some of the minerals lost in the first two steps. The water comes out flavorless and odorless, but feels(?) different to reverse osmosis filtered water. Can't really explain it in words its like how different water brands taste different to others.

For the people that don't know how to remove the little cap from the connection on the back of the Cuckoo simply push the little red ring down and pull the cap out. If still can't figure it out go watch a YouTube video from one of the official channels; it gives a great explanation on how to install the system.

As far as looks go, it definitely looks elegant and has some nice LED's that dimly light up the device so you don't get lost in absolute darkness...

stepside: We've been looking for a more convenient way to filter our drinking water without adding a whole house system. This filter fits the bill. It is a beautiful well built and solid unit that was extremely easy to hook up. I connected it to the water line feeding my ice machine and i have it sitting next to my refrigerator. It took less than 10 minutes to connect. The keypad features a single cup amount which automatically stops flow or a free flowing button which continues to flow water until pressed again to stop flow. I am excited that the filter system provides mild alkaline mineral infusion as we are attempting to alkalize our diet and starting with our water seems to be a logical place to start. I am very happy with this unit and recommend it to anyone looking to enhance their most precious liquid.
