Jerry S.: Contrary to other reviews it was packed well. The bar itself is solid and of good quality. It will only be as solid as it is installed. We installed it next to the toilet as a support for getting up and down with a bad knee. It matches color of the ones I installed in the shower.

Amazon Customer: Appears solid built.
But the packaging is too cheap. It was wrapped in soft paper which can cause shipping damage easily. A hard box would be much better.

Jay Dunbar: We purchased three of these. Each has significant scratching of the finish at the bend where the cover plate slides around to the ends. Seems this could be easily avoided at the manufacturer with a little more care. We are going to return all three, but I have no confidence ordering replacements will have different results (i.e., what is the definition of insanity). Trouble is our other bathroom towel holders etc. are all oil rubbed bronze and there doesn't seem to be a lot of other manufacturers on Amazon.
I'm not sure why we have this issue when the product has so many good reviews.... I don't think we are overly fussy but are not willing to pay for poor quality.
