Kojak Moment: I really, really like this product. I developed a bit of a sensitivity to caffeine so this really does the trick for me. The only thing I wish I could do with it is use it in the pour-over style coffee maker but it doesn't work with this method-You have to use a permanent-type coffee filter( not paper) or use a French Press.
For me, I brew it in a drip coffee maker to make a 2 cup serving, so the water I add is actually to the 4 cup mark. I either use 5 scoops of the Crio Bru and it gives me the morning lift I need with super-low caffeine. Sometimes I will add a scoop of half-calf coffee and that is great, too. I don't worry about caffeine sensitivity anymore. The taste is great- similar to light roast coffee with chocolate notes. I add French Vanilla Soy Creamer and it's just great. If coffee repeats on you like it does to me, I have found that this barely repeats on me if at all.
Seems like a great company but I wish they offered it as a Prime product because it takes a while to receive the item.

kewpiedoll99: I love chocolate, the darker the better. I also have had to give up caffeine for health reasons. For years and years I drank decaf coffee but rather suddenly I lost my tolerance for it. My husband (who still drinks regular coffee) found an article extolling the pleasures of Crio Bru and we decided to give it a try. We both like it very much. You can't expect it to be just like coffee. It doesn't have quite the body of coffee, and it has more oil (but not so much that it's a problem). It's also not much like cocoa, except that it tastes chocolatey. It's its own drink and it's quite satisfying. It's really good with cream and also without, and has a slight sweetness that I find enough, and sugar isn't needed (though it might be great with sugar and marshmallows). It also doesn't have caffeine, which is a plus for me, and I can drink it before bed and not have it keep me awake.

I have brewed it several ways: I've used a tea basket such as you might have inside a tea pot (swishing it around to actively steep), fill-your-own tea bags, and an AeroPress. It takes a few minutes to steep fully, so I've sometimes reheated the brew in the microwave for a minute. Of those methods I...

Juice Box: This stuff is fantastic. I've been munching on 72% dark chocolate for the supposed health benefits and hey, I like chocolate, and this stuff tastes to me like "liquid dark chocolate". They first came up with the link to chcoclate's health benefits by studying the diets of some tribes that have very low rates of heart disease and found they had this beverage in common. The energy kick is real too, though not as intense as coffee, I definitely feel it. Sure is expensive though. I was wondering why everyone was dropping their recipes in the reviews, there are no directions on the package. I've been brewing mine like coffee, one tablespoon per 6oz of water in the drip machine set on strong. I have a french press on order and will give that a try and see if I can use less grounds for the same effect and save a little money.
